So sick of my fat thighs!

How do I make them smaller? I am pear shaped and quite short which means I look dumpy which I hate. My top half is a size 12 and nicely toned. My bottom half is a 14 (sometimes a 16 in some shops). Each thigh is 25.5 inches in circumference and my bum is 42.5 inches. I am doing lots of Davina Superbody but the thighs are staying the same.

Any tips for reducing thunder thighs?

same here - so watching this with interest..

I have just done some PT sessions and a lot of running - this has streamlined my thighs but not really made much of an impact as I had hoped.. so do need some more advice!

Exactly the same measurements as me. I am 5 ft 9" but still look dumpy and very pear shaped. Am eating healthily and generally trying to lose weight and tone up but would love to slim my legs off and actually feel good in my clothes. Watching with interest.

oh god, same here. no advice. lipo seems favourite !!

I did manage to get 1 and a half inches off them last year by doing aerobics 5 times a week (hour long sessions) plus calorie counting. I will have to try that again but it is proving harder to lose now I am slimmer

Friends of mine have complained about their so-called fat thighs in front of me - 21 inches the lucky buggers. Nearly decked them

My mum now has very skinny thighs after being the same as me when she was younger but she is a size 8 now and about 8 stone and I don't think I can handle the diet to get me to that sort of weight!

I am consoling myself with the reduced risk of heart disease due to my thunder thighs though:-

If you can join a gym i would thoroughly recommend spinning classes and Body pump
I am chunky in the lower half but have manage to tone and slim my thighs ennough to weaar skinny jeans and leggings!

nikki1978 · 19/11/2009 21:32

Ooohh! I was looking at doing a spinning class soon. I wonder how much I could lose off my thighs in 6 weeks (holiday starts in 6 weeks and 2 days)?

I do Davina Superbody which is similar to body pump but with hand weights not the big bar jobbies. I think it is stil pretty good for the squats and I do the extra leg section so a good 35 mins of squating

Unfortunately my DH is working all hours until we go away so I can only get down the gym once a week for spinning. Still every little helps!

Lunges, and lots of them. I had a PT for 18 months which really changed by body shape. Trainer made me do every type of lunge under the sun: forward, side, reverse. Introduced weight to them eventually. Oh and squats work well too. Looked better after having DS 1 than I did pre-wedding.

SixtyFootDoll · 19/11/2009 21:40

Lots of lunges in body bump too
they do work
lunges and squats for sure!
i only spin twice a week but it really is a greaat fat burner!!
