Have been doing my wii-fit reigime for about 2.5 weeks solid now. I start with 10mins super hula hoop, followed by 2 attempts at the step plus, and then either do the 10min boxing or do a mixture of muscle workouts and yoga poses... tatal around 30mins workout per day.

Have so far lost around a stone in total, averaging just under 1lb a day...

Have also dropped a dress size.

started as a size 14-16 both top and bottom... have large boobs so dont expect to be smaller than a 12 up top by time i finish but want to be a 10 on my waist... so i'm wearing a size 12 dress today, and all my designer size 14's that didn't even zip up before i started are now perfect on me...

I'm on a real high and have also started watching my calorie intake for the first time in my life... and BF DD2 who is nearly 9mths, but she's only taking about 5 feeds a day so not sure what that will burn...

Dont want to loose spirit throughout xmas so would love some friends to help keep me on the right track!!

I'm here Yes, great idea especially with xmas coming up.
Ok my stats... Currently trying to lose the baby weight after birth of ds in June (baby no.4). Starting at 9 stone 13ibs and wanting to get back to 8 stone 3 which is the right weight for my height and build. Will be following slimming world, though not attending classes. My weakness is chocolate and biscuits and am finding it very hard to keep motivated when tired and (sometimes) bored at home with ds. Evenings and mid-afternoon are the worst times for me. Want to lose most of the weight before going back to work in Jan and am struggling to do it alone!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 16/11/2009 13:08

Hello there Diege- My weakness is crisps- but satsuma's are rapidly helping ease the cravings for them after a sandwich.

So for lunch today i've had a cheese and tomato sandwich, followed by a satsuma and a banana and watered down with a glass of water

I'm even considering starting my 'pump it up' workout DVD on top of the wii-fit to help with weight loss....

genieg · 16/11/2009 13:27

Hi both I'd love to join. Diege you are my
weightloss twin. Am also 9.13 aiming for anywhere under 8.7 (8.3 would be great!). Am also returning to work in Jan. Have a preparatory meeting later today and am very embarrassed about how I look. I find it really hard to dress well this size.

Cantmummy - that's a superb start. Very motivating!

Only starting today after a very food heavy weekend. Feeling motivated for the first time in ages. Shall we check in daily ? Can't decide what to do for dinner though. Don't like faffing around with different meals so has to suit me, DS1 (4) and DS2 (10 months) hmmmmmmmm.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 16/11/2009 14:38

Genieg- i'm the same on foods. So i'm sticking to water during the day and will have a couple of glasses of wine through the week... As for meals i have DH (who hates veg), DS (nearly 5yo), DD1 (3.6yo) and DD2 (9mo) who all need to eat the same for main meals- i can't faff about making tons of different meals. Whatever we have i mash up for DD2 to eat.

Tonight we're on chicken breasts with cheesy mash and a selection of veg- which DH will no doubt pick around. I dont think i'll be going too healthy on the main meal of the day.

Lunch will normally be a sandwich or similar followed by fruit and fruit for breakfast. everyone else in the house will have crisps occasionally, DH loves chocolate... luckily the DC's love all fruits and veg though so they can help me!!

Hi GENIEG! Yes, we do sound alike . Do you also have a thing about Simon Cowell?? . I know what you mean about clothes. I've always loved fashion and it's getting me down that I'm having to wear the same things all the time (and even they're getting tight now). Are you following any 'plan' as such or just cutting back?
CANT I think I would be starving on just fruit for breakfast, but if it suits you then great! Agree that the others in the family have to eat the same. Luckily with SW the meals are pretty accpetable. Will be having quorn chilli con carni tonight which is 'free' and I'll try and keep off the choc digestives (though I'm sure in the current stressfil circumstances I'll allow myself a packet biscuit or two

GruffaloSoldier · 16/11/2009 16:28

Hello!

Diege, Cant and genie

I had my baby in April (as Diege and Cant know) and managed to put on loads of weight. I was 11 st 3 in Aug, now am 10st 5. Havent done that much exercise. Just been really careful with what i eat, I now go to 'buggycise' once a week and have a wii fit but havent touched it for 2 months

5 years ago i was 7 st 10 and ideally I would like to get down to 8 st 10 but for now I will try and get to 9 and a half stone, which i was when I got pregnant.

GruffaloSoldier · 16/11/2009 16:33

oh and today I have eaten :

Porridge with fresh raspberries for brekkie

Smoothie to drink

Cup of decaf coffee, semi skimmed milk and 1 sugar.

2 pieces of toast, 1 marmite, 1 marge for lunch

Smoothie this afternoon

Not sure whats for dinner but I'll ask DH when he gets in

My bad thing is I dont drink water, but dont drink enough anything. I do have half juice half water though. In fact going to get one now

Diege · 16/11/2009 17:48

Hi GRUFF! My problem is lack of fluids too as I never seem to get thirsty. I think I would be starving if I'd just had toast for lunch . That's why SW suits me - unlimited carbs! Your breakfast sounds delicious though!
Just cooking quorn chilli and rice for tea, and will probably save a portion for lunch tomorrow.

GruffaloSoldier · 16/11/2009 19:24

Diege - I am exactly the same! DH cannot believe how little I drink. I rarely feel thirsty and main problem is I just forget to drink.

DH has informed me that it is naan bread pizzas with olives, capers, sundried tomatoes and proscuitto (sp?) for dinner so I am looking forward to that

one glass of red wine will accompany. cannot wait!that is my problem - I just enjoy eating far too much!

Diege · 16/11/2009 19:34

Mmm that's nice food your dh has lined up GRUFF [gruff] My gp told me that not feeling thirsty is actually a sign of dyhydration . After a particualrly bad urine infection he made me carry around a bottle of water with me everywhere and record my drinking habits. I felt like a new woman, loads of energy etc, skin great but didn't last long...kept on weeing all the time which again is a side effect of going back onto water after being dehydrated. Like rain falling on dried mud until it softens up if that makes sense!
Off to eat my tea now in front of corrie

genieg · 16/11/2009 20:45

Back from pre-work meeting. Felt so frumpy amongst everyone in their tight suits..sigh.

Drinking water problem here too! Am really going to work on that as I know it makes a huge difference. I know ALL this stuff!

Am not following a particular plan although know quite a bit about weightwatchers so might do that more religiously once I get through first week of just cutting down. Really I have to cut out chocs and biccies, stop eating whatever is in the house whenever its just me and DS2 and also stop hoovering up kids leftovers!

Don't think I did too badly today but did eat DS1's sandwich cut offs when making his packed lunch (not even nice), grabbed a handful of cashews and raisins without even realising and my portion at dinner was a bit big BUT no biscuits or choc bars which is a big start. Feel a bit hungry now which is prob a good sign.

Think its going to be a long road but lets stick at it!

Am ery envious of Gruffalo's DH. Half my problem is being in charge of the food. Like putting the lunatics in charge of the asylum.

Diege - no Simon Cowell thing here!!! Come to think of it I have NO crushes at the moment. Must develop one as weightloss aid!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 17/11/2009 09:29

hmmm- weightloss and men- both equally good- i have found that with the weight loss my labido has rocketed- and so has my lust for famous men to have a crush on!! DH finds it funny to hear me drool over men on the TV- which i've never really done before..

He's also very good at praising my weightloss and saying how much better i'm looking for it. (not that he told me i looked fat beforehand)

Have had a banana and a satsuma for breakfast and a glass of water.... will be doing my wii fit in a little while.

OP posts:
genieg · 17/11/2009 13:24

Right my aim for this week is to a. lose weight. b. find male object of desire. Definately need to step away from any daytime TV for that one!

Am unexpectedly being very virtuous today. No straying whatsoever yet and as have busy afternoon planned, as long as I get through the next 1/2 hour while DS2 finishes his nap I think today will be a success. Had rice cakes for lunch (which bizarrely I do like) because have made sausage casserole for dinner.

Glad your DH is supportive Cantmummy. Mine is but needs a bit of prodding of a very unsubtle nature.

Am actually looking forward to weighing myself tomorrow.

Oh no just had a hunger pang..........breathe through it..................gone (for now)

cantmummyhaveabreak · 17/11/2009 14:16

I had lost some weight again when i did wii-fit this morning... less than a pound, but still enough to alter my BMI a little.

I'm making prawn curry for tea... not so healthy i know but i really am craving something junk-food-ish... so curry it is!!

Found any sexy men yet Genie??

mummymels · 17/11/2009 17:44

Hi there, do you mind if I join you? I have tried losing weight in the past but have to admit that diets and me don't go very well .

However, I started doing Go Lower 6 weeks ago and for the first time I'm actually succeeding and losing weight. So far I have lost about 22 lbs and it's making me so much more motivated than in the past. What diets are you doing?

Diege · 17/11/2009 19:40

Hi MUMMYMELS and welcome to the thread . Can I ask what Go Lower is? Whatever it is, it sounds like it's working for you! I'm doing Slimming World which suits me and has worked in the past (currently trying to lose baby weight after have baby no.4 in June).
Just hovering on the edge of the thread at the moment as very stressed out (as CANT and GRUFF know) with a house buying process that is rapidly breaking down) so not really in the right frame of mind to embark on weight loss!
GENIE, how old is your youngest? Guessing you have 2 ds's from your post? As long as I can look reasonable by Jan when I'm back at work I'll be ok, though very cruel having Christmas to get through first!
HI CANT and GRUFF, hope the day has been kind to you and that you are feeling virtuous

GruffaloSoldier · 17/11/2009 20:56

Hi there,

Diege that was interesting what you said about not feeling thirst = hydration. I am going to make an effort drinking water from now on I think.

Had same brek and lunch as yesterday oh except had cheese and prosciutto on my toast and then I had pasta carbonara for tea. Havent had any snacks. Have had 1 cup of tea, 1 glass of smoothie and 2 glasses of juice with water. Hmm think I def need to drink more!

Welcome mummymels, I am not doing anything specific, just eating less and exercising more! 22 lbs sounds great, well done on that! how much more do you want to lose?

Diege - yeah just hover on here and postpone while everything gets sorted! you never know, just us talking about WL may inspire you and get you motivated again!

mummymels · 17/11/2009 21:37

Hi Diege and GruffaloSoldier

Thanks for your welcomes.

Diege - It sounds as if you have a lot going on at the moment. House buying is stressful enough without having to think about dieting too!

GruffaloSoldier - It sounds as if you have done well today. Sometimes when you have busy lives it's hard to remember to drink as much as you should.

Go Lower is a diet where they deliver the food to your house which I love as I don't have to worry about what food to cook etc. and you can have treats (even chocolate!). You loose quite a bit of weight as your body goes in to ketotis. I'd like to lose about 4 stone altogether. My weight has gradually piled on after having children and I am the biggest I have ever been.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 18/11/2009 09:46

morning- wanted to check in for today and say hi!!

Welcome mummymels- sounds like you're doing fab on the Go Lower... is it expencive?

Bad morning and i'm feeling like binging on some choccy rasins- surely the rasins cancel out the chocolate ..... though trying very hard to resist!!

OP posts:
Diege · 18/11/2009 10:33

Morning! House stress bringing out the worst in me and have already had my SW syns (4 choc digestives) so not much hope really that I'll be 'good' for the rest of the day.
MUMMYMEL, does sound great having food delivered - do be careful about ketosis though; don't want to sound preachy and I'm sure they've told you, but going into ketosis can play havoc with your metabolism and kidney function

CANT, step away from the chocolate raisins...though maybe a small handful in the current circumstances would be ok..

genieg · 18/11/2009 10:53

Hi everyone & welcome mummymels. Very impressed with the sound of Go Lower. Ofcourse I would have to throw out every other scrap of food in the house out!

Diege - good luck with the house. Very stressful business so comfort food may be required...My youngest is 10 months. It is a pain xmas is right before we go back in Jan. I am aiming to be under 9.7 (hopefully around 9.5) by xmas and then just maintain that until I go back. Hopefully once back I'll be reinvigorated and not have quite so much time to snack!!

Well was very virtuous yesterday and am now 9.12. Feeling quite good about today so fingers crossed.

Good luck for today everyone.

mummymels · 18/11/2009 18:55

Hi everyone, how is the remembering to drink water going today? I?m another one who has to keep reminding myself to drink enough too.

Cantmummyhaveabreak ? Thanks for the welcome. Sorry you are having a bad morning. That?s funny about the raisins cancelling out the chocolate. You have the same thinking as what I used to be like! I hope you are feeling better as the day goes on. Go Lower isn?t expensive considering they are supplying all your food and you have to buy very little else to go with it (I must admit I?m not a huge fan of veg so all I?m buying is green beans!). I don?t know about you but our food bill is a fortune so nothing could be more than that! Lol!

Diege ? Sorry you are having such a stressful time with your house move. What stage are you out? I hope it all gets sorted soon. With Go Lower you have a consultant that you can speak to regularly and they speak to you about any health issues and check out with you first that it is not dangerous. I also checked it out with my GP first as I was going about something else just before I started the diet so thought there was no harm in asking. GP said that as long as I am a bit active then it is perfectly safe. I do try and walk to the shops etc with the kids rather than drive and she said that was fine. I am also taking some multi vitamins just to be sure. I really want to get to the gym more as well but with the kids and work there never seems enough time!

Genieg ? Thanks for the welcome. Well done on nearly being at your goal weight. Lol I won?t lie, the first few days were hard cos you have to have other stuff in the house for the kids and it is so easy to be tempted but if you can get past the first few days it does get a lot easier. I never thought I would say this but I actually don?t feel hungry at all on it now.

Diege · 19/11/2009 17:30

Hello! Have decided enough is enough, house buying stress or not, and have embarked on slimming world (works v.well for me). So having quorn chilli and pasta for tea which is 'free' on green days and then will have 2 biccies with cup of decaf coffee later on (8 syns). Sorry if I'm speaking gobbledegook!
MUMMYMELS, should be at exchange of contracts stage but our buyers are demanding we drop the price by 15 grand (no grounds)..We're holding firm and have said exchange tomnorrow or stuff it...
Hope everyone is ok and drinking lots of water. Have just had de-caf tea, one coffee and a small glass of water to drink so far. Not good.

mummymels · 19/11/2009 19:42

Diege - keep drinking. lol - she says as I have a glass of water at my side by the laptop. I get really nervous doing that after one spilt on my laptop recently and it died for a couple of weeks! That is really cheeky of your buyers asking for that. I hope they go along and exchange tomorrow. What a stressful time you are having. Good luck with slimming world.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 20/11/2009 09:21
