I have a lateral thigh trainer and it's fab. That said, I've been too lazy to get my bum into gear and use it as much as I should but it's a great cardio workout and tones the thighs beautifully. You can really feel all the muscle groups working.

someone told me that it wont help me lose weight, just turn it into muscle? is this true?

Not completely no - as long as you don't have it set too hard, you will be getting a cardio workout. Low res, high reps = calorie loss and not muscle build. (army DH told me). After some time, rather than making the resistance harder, increase the speed at which you do the workout = more cals lost!
I'm good on the theory...............now I just need to actually get on it!!!
