I HAVE to lose this weight as am going to a wedding in a month and have a fabulous dress to wear but I'm an 18, and the dress is a 16.

I can fit in it. I have Spanx. I am starving myself and have forbidden carbs.

PLEASE help me...

i'm 14stone at the moment, and was a size 16 at just 13 stone. I've lost 2lb in the last week, but need to step it up a notch.

i am very pleased when i fart - i can't fart - i rarely shit.

Tortington · 08/09/2009 23:35

your welcome

i am a total atkinsaholic now.

Katisha · 08/09/2009 23:54

Thanks Custy - the flaxseed meal thing looks interesting. I used to do a kind of scone with ground almond and egg.

I'm a bit suspicious of the weirdy substitute stuff though - sweeteners, sugar-free stuff, anything that reeks of chemical manipulation. And it's pricey as you say, Although I do find the Atkins choc chippy bars are a useful emergency stuffer.

Shame about the tomatoes though - I have a glut in the garden. I'm sure I read somewhere that Atkins decided to allow tomatoes as they had a lot going for them despite being a bit on the carbiferous side.

Tortington · 09/09/2009 00:00

thats the choice you make though isn't it - i mean have them by all means - but note that they are more carby and you will probably have to give up something else.

i like them, but i don't think they enhance my salad experience as much as say a dollop of mayo might for the same amount of carbs.

but then i love bell peppers - which aren't the best veg in the world to eat - quite carby - but they are so sweet roasted yum!

just wanted to make op aware that tomatos are not as harmless as we might think - i certainly wasn't aware of it.

i do have have a can of chopped (7 grams) on a sunday with bacon - yum!

Tortington · 09/09/2009 00:01

7 carbs - not grams

Katisha · 09/09/2009 00:04

Come on then OP - you have some hard core support here! It can be done in a month.

And you Eyeballs! Put down the cake.

Tortington · 09/09/2009 00:13

can't believe i forgot sausages

you can't eat any old sausages.

i have found that sainsbo's do a chippolata that are 1.6 carbs for two - thats bloody excellent

watch yourr sausages - they stick bread and all kinds of shit int here to bulk it up.

Tortington · 09/09/2009 00:14

katisha - i have an unopened packet of flax meal that i will never use if you want it.

creamy custardo at hotmail dot com

let me know

HolyGuacamole · 09/09/2009 00:20

Wow custardo! Very interesting post!

This syrup stuff, is it a bit like those syrups you get in Costa/Starbucks etc?

I looked on the megastore website and there isn't any nutritional info for the syrups......so forgive this rather daft question but does that men there are no calories or carbs but that it would still sweeten your coffee?

And if you don't mind, one more question, does it taste 'fake', you know that sort of saccharin taste?

Tortington · 09/09/2009 00:21

yeah exactly like those syrups - infact might be same - i dunno if its devinci then deffo the same

Tortington · 09/09/2009 00:23

no saccarine tast e- but oh so very very very strong - the tiniest drop in my coffee is equal to my one tea spoon of sugar - if d makes me a brew she chucks in a swig and its disgusting.

no carbs - no sure about cals

but no carbs

Tortington · 09/09/2009 00:25

oh and vodka diet coke is ok - if you want to get drunk

i like diet cherry coke and vodka ka ka ka

although its prolly better if you give yourself a couple of weeks non alchy

HolyGuacamole · 09/09/2009 00:28

Oh thanks! I'm gonna have to order some of this stuff

I saw the Amaretto.....then I saw cherry....then I saw cookie dough....french vanilla...egg nog.....argh. Too many lovely flavours.

I shall sleep on it and order a bottle to try in the morning.

Thanks again.

Tortington · 09/09/2009 00:30

no probs

good luck - let me know how you go on

or if you discover something great

ElectricElephant · 09/09/2009 12:23

custardo, thank you so much! good point about the sausages too (damn!)

Tuna and chicken it is then... and thanks so much for the chicken feta pocket one - that'll be my dinner tonight!

Right, so by the end of this month I aim to have lost 10lb.

I'll log in frequently and let you know how i'm doing, and yes - I'll buy digital scales

Stigaloid · 09/09/2009 12:36

Buy another dress. 14 lbs in 28 days is far too fast a weight drop and unhealthy for you and your heart. Your health is worth more than a dress.

ElectricElephant · 09/09/2009 12:50

Stigaloid, thank you for your concern
buying another dress isn't an option, I don't have the time or the money. This is strictly a one off - I need to lose this weight now, and I need this target to do it.

If I start to feel even slightly ill, i'll stop, don't worry.

EyeballsintheSky · 09/09/2009 12:55

Right, just so I can get the bascis before I dig out the book again and sell my soul to Dr Atkins... how many grammes of carbs was it per day during induction? I've got 20g in my head...

Then I can do some shopping with that in mind.

Fantastic posts btw custy, really helpful. Well done on the weight loss

ElectricElephant · 09/09/2009 12:57

Custy - thanks - I will email you. It must be quite heavy to post?

ElectricElephant · 09/09/2009 17:14

See you there Katisha - I've just bought some electric scales (exciting!!) and am planning on doing daily updates. I bet you can't wait

OP posts:
ElectricElephant · 09/09/2009 17:21

Oh and custardo too! Sorry, didn't mean to not mention you!!

OP posts:
HolyGuacamole · 09/09/2009 20:05

Custardo, have ordered the Amaretto and the vanilla. Am so excited, can't wait!

Katisha · 09/09/2009 20:39

Right here we go then. I rather scuppered the strict induction by going to pizza express at lunchtime. Had the salad nicoise but didn't eat the bread it comes with. What really didn't help was the wine.

So...start again properly tomorrow. I don't feel it was too disastrous today but that has been my problem with it really - in the last couple of years I have frequently done "lowish carb" but not rigorously, consequently the weight hasn't come off. I think my body knows what is going on and resists letting go of any weight!

Katisha · 09/09/2009 20:43

Sorry meant to post tha on the new thread. Scuse me while I cut and paste.
