About to join the gym - need new trainers

I am going to do a 6 wk trial period, and my levels of commitment to exercise are not to be relied on... but I do need a pair of trainers which would suit gym work - I will definitely NOT be running in them, but need something all-purpose. Oh, and my budget is not huge, so can anyone recommend a fairly basic pair? Am hoping to pay around £50, though I accept this may be unrealistic!

Seriously, just a cheap pair of basic trainers will do, they work for me, but dont get tennis shoes or those trainers with flatter soles.

sportdirect.com has a sale on trainers at the moment. I am looking for some myself, as have just joined a gym. Good luck!

If your not running, any old trainers will do.

£20 pair of hitech in brantano, I was in there earlier, they are plenty good enough for the gym. Other wise plenty of asics about for about£35.
