They can be a B choice and it's 1oz of dry, otherwise you can syn them and they are about 4 or 5 per oz.

what??

how can porridge oats possibly be a sin?

I have bad news - you can only count porridge oats as a B choice if you also have an oat/scan bran, as otherwise you don't get the right amount of nutrients/fibre which is necessary to class them as a healthy extra. If you don't have the bran then they have to be counted as syns.

oh! what is an oat/scan bran?

Oh Emily - can't believe you haven't been introduced to the delights of oat and scan bran!

They are a just about edible piece of cardboard , masquerading as a low syn crispbread type thing. Your consultant should have them on sale at class. Think they're about 89p a pack.

Christie - up to you how you eat it. You don't have to have it at exactly the same time as the porridge, as long as you have it in the same day. Is probably best crumbled up and mixed in with it though, as at least that will soften it and you prob won't even notice it's there.

tabs - they sound lovely! (not!!!)
