What kind of weight loss/fitness do you get from cycling?

I just got my first bike (since childhood!) and am losing weight generally. I really love cycling (in theory!) and am now doing it in practise (for 2 days so far!). Yesterday and today I have done around 30 mins each day & I can definitely feel muscles that havent been touched in a while!

Anyway I was wondering how you get fit from cycling, I can feel it gets my heart rate really going. What does it do? How many calories does it burn? I love to tell myself things like this while I am doing it it gives me a big added boost. Thanks!

look here

i'm hoping ALOT!
I am in the process of buying a road bike with the intention of getting as fit as my skinny six-packed cycling DH.

Unicycling burns more.
Worth considering

I wonder how many calories I consume a day...
