7lbs in 7 days Jason Vale juicing plan - anyone up for this?

I've just been reading one of his books and have been really inspired to try the 7 days juicing plan. I have read on here somewhere about others who've tried it and been very impressed with the results. If anyone fancies doing it (and I would recommend you read the book as it explains why you're juicing) then sign in here. I've ordered wheatgrass powder and spirulina (both suggested to add to some of the juices) so as soon as they arrive I will start (probably later this week). Recipes are listed here if you want to have a look at what's involved.

Don't forget that you need the 2nd book as well to be able to add normal food back in after a week on just juices. Otherwise your body will block up and have a bit of a hissy fit.
How much did you work out it would cost in buying everything for 1 week for the fruit and veg? I couldn't get the cost under about £70 so if you've managed to get it cheaper I'd be interested.

I liked the books and the idea of raw fruit and veg playing a big part of my diet/eating plan.

Good luck with it, Katie Price did quite well on it.

Paranoid - haven't worked out the cost but can get locally grown apples v cheap. Also I grow my own beetroot and cucumber at the moment so won't have to buy them either. I imagine that at this time of year all the fruit and veg you need will be cheaper than in the winter. Maybe a good time to do it!

This is true - good luck with it. We only have cooking apples here so think I won't be blending them as they are really sour, however if I can stop pickling the beetroot I might use some of that in a juice. Got rid of my juicer couple of weeks ago as they are such a pain to clean each time.

i am up for it. i did it a couple of years ago....well a convuluted version of it....basically i did smoothie for breakfast, smoothie for lunch and very healthy dinner [fish salad or veg etc]

i lost a stone fairly quickly and didn't need to do that weaining yourself back on to solids things that you have to do if you just do juice for 7 days. i didn't feel hungry or disatissfied either....

let me know if ou up for it and we can start together xx

Hi. I started the 7 days 7lbs today. Thanks to DC's being quite demanding I didn't get my first juice til midday but I'd had mint tea first thing then long walk to school.
So far don't feel hungry but lets face it I only started today!
Psychologically I feel better already.
I am a little confused how much and how often Wheat Grass Powder and Physillium husks have to go in though.
All the spirulina, physillium husks, wheat grass powder and probiotic capsules you can get from Holland and Barrett. Just did day1-3 shopping and it came to about £25 with all the offers at Tesco.

hi i was on this plan last year and lost loads of weight. my juicer broke, and its almost all gone back on, but thats my fault for being a greedy chocoholic

just started it again today so can i join for group support please?

this time last year i was 10st 13, and i lost a stone. i replaced loads of stuff in my wardrobe to a fab size 12 but now i have crept back up to 10st 6, and am only just squeezing those size 12s on, so i would like to lose at least 6lb

good luck to all, i find Aldi sells the fruit and vegs at great prices. i dont use the supplements, and i do have a few snacks and a small tea, so it takes me longer to lose the weight

Day 2.

Managed well yesterday. Missed out one of the juices.
Had a bit of a hunger melt down late afternoon but after the yummy turbo express felt better.
Have still forgotten to weigh myself but know roughly how much I was.
Am currently drinking first juice of day and with the physillium husk the texture is like drinking mousse!!! Nice though....honestly.

I have a wedding to go to on Day 6. I know what the book says about mental attitude etc but I intend to enjoy the wedding then go back to the plan on the following day or two. Not ideal but better than saying I'll just not bother!

Use a straw to drink the juices through, I'm a dentist and looked at the plan and can tell you your arse might be smaller but the gaps in your mouth will be huge if you keep swigging down that much acid.

scodgie · 23/09/2009 07:03

Day 3.

Nearly caved in yesterday as I was so fed up with juicing. In fact I did crack and binged on a HUGE carrot!

Thanks MillyMollyMoo, I haven't used a straw but clean my teeth after each juice now.

Feel exhausted today but not sure if it's juicing or lack of sleep. My DC's
have decided to start getting up before 5 a.m.!!! I have lost 2lbs so far in 2 days so something does work.....perhaps the lack of food?!

I'm not completely sold on this as a diet but definitely as a detox. I nearly talked myself out of it this morning but am carrying on because of the time/effort/money invested so far.

Anybody else following the plan? Would be interested to hear how you are getting on?

MillyMollyMoo · 23/09/2009 07:58

Nooooooooooo cleaning your teeth is the worse thing you can do it makes the acid penetrate the teeth further.
Honestly please get a packet of 99p straws from tesco, the children should be drinking all juices through a straw ideally anyway.

Day 3 Midday

Finally have caved in. I felt tired and lousy and had a headache all morning. It seemed wrong to be throwing away so much lovely veg and just having juice.

My first solids in two and a half days was a bowl of mixed beans (need the fibre) and I feel better already!

I will use the juices once in a while or for a day cleanse of my system after a hard weekend but sadly this is not for me even though I did lose weight.

I have decided to stick to two very small meals of mostly soup and fruit/veg and one healthy meal per day. I don't miss processed carbs at all so will give them up and only alcohol at social functions/events because that's what I want to do. I will try to avoid any processed food but that's never easy when feeding DH and DCs!

Good luck to anybody else on the plan, will be interesting to hear how you get on.

Bradcobs · 23/09/2009 19:47

Interesting to read the above - I'm doing his 3 day detox and nearly caved in, but as it is only 3 days, and only one day left, pretty sure I can finish it.

One question - he mentions that you will feel tired and so you should sleep, I've had exactly the opposite problem and have struggled to sleep and am dreading tonight in case I am awake for 2 hours again. Not good when all you are having is juice and smoothies!

angele2002 · 09/07/2010 12:39

I am on day two and had serious headache all yesterday and its hanging around today though not as bad. Fell asleep for 15 mins wolf up dizzy. Thinking bout carrying on with the juices during the day but having a sensible meal at night.

sweetheart · 14/07/2010 16:56

I did this diet back in May and pretty soon you'll realise it wasn't worth the time, money or effort. Yes you will be lighter if you manmage to finish the week but only for a few days and then the weight will go back on I'm affraid. It's not just me either - I know several people who have done the scheme and all said the same thing.
