.....and although I am proud of myself for managing 15 mins on my first attempt, since I've got home I feel a bit odd and slightly strained in the pelvic floor area.
So now I am concerned that I might have done too much. I want to get fit as I am 2 stone overweight, but not at the expense of my pelvic floor.
Is this ok/normal, or should I build up my general fitness by power walking first, and then progress to running?
I do do my pf exercises by the way!

are you warming up/ cooling down properly?

I would be tempted to start with walk 1 minute then run 1 minute maybe repeated 10 times to ease you in gently.

well done btw, that's pretty good going for your first run

Thanks jooseyfruit! Well I must admit that I didn't actually warm up - oops - as I was half way I realised that I hadn't done so! So tonight I will definitely do so. I didn't actually fully run the whole way - I walked for 2 lampposts, then ran for 2 lampposts, but kept going the whole time.
