I've done it in the past, 3 days of hell for a weight loss that is back on the following week!

But next time I am really desperate I will probably do it agin!

what is it?

debs26 · 27/05/2005 18:54

here . also known as the ice cream diet. clearly not very healthy but if it works half as well as it says it does its tempting. not sure what saltine crackers are tho

charleepeters · 27/05/2005 19:39

im gonna do it starting tomorrow will let you know how much i loose im 10stone 10 lbs now

Newbarnsleygirl · 27/05/2005 19:46

I might have a go at it. I have a query though what are the saltine crackers and beef franks?

LuvMyBaby · 27/05/2005 20:03

I am currently following a similar diet - 3 days long, guarantees to lose 10 1bs but it is from the British Heart Institute and used for patients that need to lose weight before an operation. It is very similar in many ways to the diet you are talking about - just a few bits which are different. You are supposed to do the diet for 3 days out of each week and could lose up to 40lbs in one month (allegedly!!) Anyway, I am now at the end of my second day and have lost just under 5lb - I am not sure how sustainable this is purely for the small quantities allowed but I feel the diet itself is pretty healty as there is a good mix of carbs, proteins, fatty acids, fruit and veg...

I reckon go for it - nothing will happen if its used in the right way - ie. not continuing for more than 3 days at a time.

debs26 · 27/05/2005 20:54

beef franks , am told saltine crackers are ritz or tuc crackers. am gonna give it a go but need to get ds1s 1st birthday out of the way first and get some food in the house!

Newbarnsleygirl · 27/05/2005 20:56

Thanks.

I have a big night out tomorrow and then a party on Sunday so I'll give it a go on Mon/Tues.

Could you do it every week then?

debs26 · 27/05/2005 21:02

i heard you do it same way lmb said - 3 days on, 4 days off eating sensibly but not overeating. didnt say if you have to stop after a certain amount of time

OP posts:
Newbarnsleygirl · 27/05/2005 21:04

Because it's not like it's really drastic is it?

You get a wide range of foods.

NotQuiteCockney · 27/05/2005 21:07

Saltine crackers are not Ritz. They're a bit more like water biscuits, I guess. They're less salty, and less tasty (less fatty?) than ritz or tuc.

NotQuiteCockney · 27/05/2005 21:07

Oh, and this diet sounds weird to me. But then anything other than "change your eating habits regularly, and take some exercise" sounds strange to me.

debs26 · 27/05/2005 21:08

thanks notquitecockney, my sources are obviously not that great! thought ritz was a bit too good to be true but then so is the ice cream bit (yum)

luvmybaby

I did the same one as you a couple of years ago & lost 6 lbs - trouble was, the following week I found out I was pregnant & everything went out of the window!!!!

Lots of luck to you.

KayleighKaya · 30/11/2010 13:08

ive done them crash diets before and put it all straight back on. can see how youd want to for a posh night out in a skimpy dress and might work i guess. i need to lose weight long term so im doing celebrity slim and its been amazing for me so far. feel so good and losing weight all the time.

Anita1075 · 01/12/2010 09:48

I have not done this one, hope it goes well for your though. I am doing celebrity slim and this is working really well for me.

BooBooGlass · 01/12/2010 09:48

I do wish the celebrity slim people would stop spamming the boards Hmm
Bumping a 5 year old thread to go on about this 'fabulous' diet does tend to be a bit of a giveaway you know

BooBooGlass · 01/12/2010 09:49

Annnnd as if by magic, there's another one of them. Seriously. You need to go to some kind of stealth advertising class because you're really quite shite at the subtlety

Sugarhut20 · 30/04/2015 18:02

In response to deb26. I have found out from an American living in London that you can get Saltine crackers in Morrisons, Sainsburys or Tesco's. It is called Doriano crackers by Doria, they are Italian crackers which they use in soups 240g, the come in individual wrappers of 8 portions per pack. I hope this helps.

Sugarhut20 · 30/04/2015 18:05

Good grief, I'm really out of date. The threads have been posted since 2005! Oh well. Lol.

SouthernComforts · 30/04/2015 18:11

Did you advance search saltine crackers just to share that Sugar?
