I must have wine. That's my only stipulation. Can't do without it.

hellooo! I've been in the country watching the liddle lambs and calves springing about and going to my friend's baby's Christening. She (my friend) lives in a mini castle which is v lovely. And she's v v thin too which is distressing. Claims it is all down to All-Bran and pea soup, which sounds suspiciously like the Cod-Plan diet to me.
So, I'm good to go, as they say. I have muesli with oats for breakfast and more carrots than you can shake a donkey at. Also much fruit.
Just been looking in the mirror and thinking 'ha! I will never be this porky again!".
Dh has agreed to stop cooking shepherds pie and will bully me over the wine. I think he'd prefer a less stout wife and is thus motivated.
GI sounds excellent, and you are clearly all lovely and increasingly lithe folk, but I need Ms Whiplash to keep me in line.
I had to buy a lovely noa noa skirt for the Christening in a size XL
This can NOT go on....

Hi aloha. Where are you going? Can I join you?
I have just been to my parents for a family get together for the weekend and unfortunately it has been confirmed what I have been quite afraid of in the last few months. I am getting a bit 'hefty'!

I tend to avoid scales at all costs largely due to the fact that I don't want to know. However, if you think I should...?

Anyway, I have always been a healthy 14 at best, as I am rather rubinesque. However, the wobbliness in my tummy area is a new thing and quite frankly, frightening!

collision · 30/05/2005 22:10

OK, Aloha, I am joining you too.

I have put on 10lbs since my baby was born last November!! How embarrassing! I thought BFing was to help you lose it!!

Tomorrow I will be eating porridge for Bfast, not sure for lunch but will try and be careful and salad for dinner. I will snack on fruit and veg and make a big pot of soup.

I like the mantra, 'If you dont want to eat a carrot, you cant be hungry!! LOL!'

aloha · 31/05/2005 10:01

Ok I'm 13stone 4lbs this morning. This is NOT a good weight for me. Want to lose a stone by my birthday (mid July) and a further stone by dh's birthday (beginning of Sept). Do these sound realistic goals to you Ms Fish?
Had muesli for breakfast. About to take all three kids to Putney armed only with an apple and my sense of humour.
Wish me luck.

Am in a similar boat, Aloha. Good luck - sounds v do-able to me.

Saker · 31/05/2005 22:33

Good luck Aloha and everyone you have motivated to join you.

I don't know if this might cheer you up but I read that the b/f thing is a myth for the first 6 months but if you are still b/f at 6months then the weight should start to come off. So it's a good time to start trying to encourage it a bit.

aloha · 31/05/2005 22:35

Only two more months to go then!
Had steak and salad for supper, then decaff coffee and four dates for my sugar craving. Soup for lunch. Have been v good. Feel rather irritable though.
This better work!

Good luck Aloha. Am trying to loose weight too before going on holiday on 20 June. So left it a bit late really. I'm aiming to loose 6 lbs which would be my pre-pg no 2 weight. Day 2 for me. Am also not giving up wine!!!

Bouj · 31/05/2005 22:58

Well done so far! It is a good idea to have a goal date - especially two! I will be on that bandwagon soon.. Slack, I know, but moving house this weekend so that sort of thing always requires takeaways and much champagne.. A warning though, I will be bloody grumpy when I do start!

dinny · 01/06/2005 08:48

Saker, agree with that about bf - mine definitely starting to come off now ds nearly 9 months. actually, my weightloss is same as with dd (who I was't bfing).

nutcracker · 01/06/2005 08:57

Can I join please. I need someone to shout at me though cos I am crap at dieting, have the willpower of a natt.

I am 5'2 and last time I checked I was 9 stone 4lbs.
My stomach is disgusting, just like a huge plate of jelly and my arms are going the same way.

Have brought loads of water as I imtend to have a swig of thet every time I want to snack, but my biggest prob is getting through from breakfast to lunchtime without eating the contents of the biscuit tin.

I want to lose a stone and tone up by beginning of august as I will have a wedding to go to around that time.

So, help please.

Saker · 01/06/2005 10:09

Dinny, I think the thing I read was saying that your body hangs on to the fat for the first few months in case you still need it or (God forbid) get pregnant again!

MrsDoolittle · 01/06/2005 14:20

I started well this morning. I had a bowl of muesli for breakfast. However, I was offered (and I accepted) two cadburys shortcake biscuits with coffee this morning.
I have eaten a homemade ham and mustard sandwich for lunch and water.
If I hadn't eaten the biscuits, not to bad!
I still haven't bought a weighing scales, should I?

MrsDoolittle · 01/06/2005 14:21

Am very impressed aloha. I hope it works.
Are we going to stay on this thread?

collision · 01/06/2005 17:08

OK, I weighed myself and was 11 stone and 13lbs on Monday. Oh dear. After ds was born I was 11 stone 3lbs and very chuffed.

I would like to be 10 and a half stone.

The diet started today.

I ate banana for breakfast and a cup of tea. Lots of water mid morning and a prawn salad with just balsamic vinegar on it....no oil, for lunch.
And half a pitta.

Had an apple this afternoon and a cup of tea.

Have told DH I can eat tomato pasta for dinner with another salad.

I feel good and strong and I am giving up alcohol for this.

Bozza · 01/06/2005 20:57

Nutcracker - you have to make sure the biscuit barrel is empty. Then you can't raid it! Don't buy any biscuits this week.

collision · 03/06/2005 21:38

Weighed myself and am now 11 stone 7lbs which is good.

Have been very strict with myself and eaten ham salad and fruit at lunch and monkfish and salad tonight. No carbs in the evening. No alcohol either. It is very hot here so it does help with the 'no eating' thing.

How you doing, Aloha?
