I need to lose 2 stones, I embarked on a strict diet combined with exercises but I feel I need a bit of help, a boost...Can I rely on that pill ??

If your BMI is 21.5, in what universe do you need to lose two stones?

poorbuthappy · 30/06/2009 14:06

Seriously hoping there's a typo in there...height and weight please...

Malkuth · 30/06/2009 14:06

Your BMI is in the normal range so if you lose 2 stone won't you end up underweight?

OrmIrian · 30/06/2009 14:07

2 stone seems a bit much. I can't see that you need to lose anything. But I don't think 'they' can stop you can they? Is it presecription only?

PortAndLemon · 30/06/2009 14:08

Say for the sake of argument that you are 5'6" and weigh 9 and a half stone (which gives BMI of 21.5). If you lost two stones you'd have a BMI of 17, which is underweight.

And no, they won't let you buy it. Because you aren't overweight.

OrmIrian, it's only supposed to be sold after consultation with pharmacist, including checking BMI.

healthy BMI is between 25 and 20. You do not need to lose two stone.

If you want to change the way you look, get down the jym and do some exercise to help you tone.

OrmIrian · 30/06/2009 14:09

Oh right. Probably not then!

Summerfruit · 30/06/2009 14:11

Hang on let me check again... I'm 5f7 for 74 kilos..Let me do the calcul, I maybe have done a mistake..thank you for your answers for now ! x

That gives you a BMI of 25.6, so slightly overweight.

Based on what people have posted here about their experiences, I think they may still not sell you alli as you aren't very far into the overweight zone.

The NHS BMI calculator is v odd.

I am 175cm and according to them I can wiegh between 8.5 - 11.8 stone.

I am 76 kg at the moment and am right at the very very top of the normal wieght range and want to get to the middle so would presume you must be about the same as me based on height and wieght?

Summerfruit · 30/06/2009 14:34

Well I have re done it, and I'm 24 and half which is not too bad...Now I have to move my butt and get toned..my body is all wobbly but I have big breasts (they are actually nice !!),. I never had it before so dont want to lose them !! Just have to exercise !!xx
