Has anybody had, or know anybody who has had, a Gastric Band fitted?

Just wondering? Was watching this morning yesterday and Fern looks fab - wondering whether real people had this done or not?

bigted, I had my consultation with Motivation today, my 20-week programme starts tomorrow. The Motivation programme was started by a French-Canadian expert in obesity, Dr Maurice Larocque in Canada. There are many clinics here in Ireland, however, it doesn't appear there are any in the UK as yet, it seems to be Canada & Ireland only right now. I will be going back in a weeks time, so I will ask my consultant then.
