talking of portion sizes... I have been wondering where else in my diet I 'over portion' my food.... as I have a BMI of 31... and found that since i did Slimming World (and lost 2 stone).....that I have lost all sense of PORTION size (as on that diet you can eat as much potatoes OR meat depending on what plan you choose.
-so though i lost wieght...I find that way of eating has not helped my 'binge eating -te-nd-ancies-'--
so what i- thought i'd try...is to follow the slimming world plan...but exert a bit of portion control.
So i googled portion sizes...and all i keep finding is 'matchbox size cheese'...or 'egg size potato' etc.....
which is fine cooking for 1- but i am cooking for a family... so what i'd love is to know WEIGHTS of COOKED food- so I could for example cook a load of potatoes... remove my PORTION by weight... then add butter and add milk as usual to the remainder for the family- and add only permitted ammount of semi-milk to my bit.
It's like rice- they tell you dry wight- but would like cooked weight- not handfuls or cup fuls...as they can vary....i want to know exact weights!!!
I'm no good at calorie counting- but happy to weigh everything i eat- if it a) highlights how distorted my portion sizes are.... and enables me to LOSE WEIGHT eating WITH my family.
