About a stone and a half of baby weight naturally came off in the first couple of weeks, but still got another extra stone, plus I was about a stone overwight to start with. I've ordered a WW points calculator and am going to to start aming for 20 points or less a day.

Anyone else in the same boat who like to be an online slimming buddy?

First challenge - the fridge is empty so we're ordering in tonight!

Me, me, me

DS turned 3 weeks Friday just gone.

I joined SW last Tuesday and was delighted that i only weigh 1.5lbs more than when i weighed in at SW just before my Hols in June last year when DS was conceieved.

BUT i've had the most disastrous week, the freezer packed in and was full of meat from the butchers, cupboards were bare and we ordered pizza and drank wine, then had two bad meals out and more wine and last night mil came around with a surprise take out so we didn;t have to cook

So i'll be starting again this Tuesday. Just emailed my consultant to let her know and confess.

Becs xx

Hello, can I join in too? My ds is now 5 months and I think I need to loose at least a stone. I say think because I'm too scared to weigh myself having eaten three Easter eggs and a million other tasty but wrong foods. Am restarting WW tomorrow but am not joining a class just using my old books so online support would be great. Will weigh myself in the morning

babyignoramus · 14/04/2009 08:53

Yay! Slimming buddies!

I am actually feeling good as I got no Easter eggs (for once I'm happy about that), and went to a BBQ yesterday and managed to restrain myself.

My problem is that I'm under 5ft tall so every pound shows. I'm aiming for 9 stone as I have a big frame and I currently weigh 11 1/2 .

Well done baby with not eating any eggs and being good at the BBQ, I'm useless at restraining myself.

I weighed myself this morning and am 10.11, which isn't quite as bad as I thought given the Easter egg consumption and trip to Cadbury World on Friday . I'm 5"2 so also show weight gain very easily, I want to lose at least 1st but would love to lose 1.5 if possible. Am so fed up of still wearing maternity jeans. I do have one pair of M&S jeans size 14 that fit but all other pairs and trousers seem to be made for really skinny ladies. I don't know about you but for me it's not just the pregnancy weight gain, it's that my whole shape has changed, I feel like I don't know my body anymore.

Anyway feeling quite positive about WW and quite sick of chocolate . Just had my small bowl of cornflakes and am about to go shopping to buy healthy food.

babyignoramus · 15/04/2009 11:42

Well, my points calculator arrived today. The online one I used yesterday neglected to tell me I only had to enter saturated fats, not all fats - so I thought I'd had 23 points yesterday (which is my target given my height/weight/age etc.), but I'd only had 18.5! no wonder I was so blardy hungry.

Still, at least it'll make today seem easier .

OP posts:
RachieW · 15/04/2009 20:52

18.5 points!! You must have been starving, mind you am only on 20 myself but even 1.5 can make a difference. Did ok yesterday but had dinner at a friends so it was hard to calculate points. Today I have been a WW angel and I've been rushing about so much I've not even felt that hungry.
Hope today was easier in the end

babyignoramus · 16/04/2009 13:29

Did really well yesterday, but had a bakewell slice forced on me at my ex-colleague's house when I dropped in this morning. He'd bought them specially so I couldn't refuse!! I think that's 2 points so not too bad.

Do you know if you're supposed to count fruit and veg in your points? I'm not, except for things like avocado. I counted pure orange juice but not sure if I should have - does it count as fruit??

OP posts:
RachieW · 16/04/2009 21:48

Hiya- I can sympathise with the bakewell slice as I went to a friends today and had a chocolate muffin. I find it so hard to resist when food is there looking at me! Aside from that I've done quite well but I could really eat some chocolate now.

Yes you are supposed to count fruit in your points, I'm a bit slap dash with this as I do count it but don't beat myself up if sometimes I go over because of fruit as it is healthy after all All veg is free, apart from avacado (155g = 6 points ) and potato (0.5 point per 50g). I can give you the fruit points if you like too?

Did you know all diet fizzy drinks are free? Sometimes I have a diet coke for a sugar fix...jeez I live life on the edge.

How's your ds doing? Is he your first? Mine has just got his first tooth and has started rolling. I'm also going to start weaning on Saturday, exciting but a bit scary too- he seems to be growing up so quickly.

RachieW · 16/04/2009 21:49

Wolfblass....how are you getting on?

babyignoramus · 17/04/2009 11:18

Rachie, yes he is my first. He's 7 weeks old and massive!!

I weighed myself this morning and I've lost half a stone in four days . Just goes to show how much crap I must have been eating .

I'm kind of with you on the not worrying about going over points for fruit/veg. TBH, I don't think it's healthy to cut back on veg to make up for earlier misdemenours (sp?)!!

As for diet coke. I don't care what McKeith says, tis the food of the gods.

Ds is my first too, he piled on the weight when he was tiny but has evened out now. Having said that he is 15.9lb and is nearly 6 months but he's quite long so doesn't look huge, bloody heavy to lift though!

Fantastic news on your weight loss!! It's excellent I weighed myself today and have lost 4lb but am always a bit dubious so will see what happens on the scales next tues. I've been out for lunch today though so wasn't that good. I have brought a ww ready meal for dinner though as dh is out and I can't be bothered to cook something proper, so I might redeem myself a bit.

You've got to love diet coke, so what if it can clean pennies, when you are on a diet any way to get a sugar fix goes.

babyignoramus · 19/04/2009 10:18

I hope DS slows down a bit, he's already outgrown most of his 0-3 month sleepsuits and I think he's nearly a stone. He's tall as well, unlike me.

I ate a Lindoe mini-egg yesterday, but lunch and dinner were both really low points so I didn't go over. It was yum.

RachieW · 19/04/2009 14:33

You are being so good! I ate very little all day but then had a friends birthday so ended up drinking and eating lots more than intended. It was great to get out though and be me and not Mummy for a few hours. Not so good for the diet though. Today I feel so tired I'm eating comfort food but I'll be back on it tomorrow. I find dieting ok until you have a social occasion or are ill or tired and then it goes out the window.

My ds grew out of his 0-3 quickly as well but for us it was more his length and size of his feet. Even now he has 3-6 month babygrows that fit in the body but the feet are too small. I've ended up getting him footless outfits which is easier now the weather is warming up. I started weaning him yesterday, apple puree to start with. He grabbed the spoon out of my hand and shoved it in his mouth. Clearly going to be a foodie like his mum

RachieW · 21/04/2009 10:49

Hi Baby are you there? I've lost 4lb this week which I'm very pleased about. As you know I've not stuck to ww that rigidly so it's a good start. About to walk to my local high st now in an attempt to burn some more calories!

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 21/04/2009 11:02

Me!!

I weighed myself today and have smehow put on 7pounds in 2 months. . Seeing I was already a stone overweight I now have 1.5 stones to lose.

I'm using the foodfocus website that was on another thread to calorie count. It seems very good.

I've had weetabix for breakfast and am soooo hungry now. Am trying to fill up with water but its not the same. I'm going for a bike ride this afternoon as well.

RachieW · 21/04/2009 15:39

Hi Stripey- I can sympathise, I put on 3lb in less than two weeks so would easily manage 7 in 2 months if I'd have carried on eating everything in sight

I've not heard of foodfocus but will check it out now. I'm using WW because I lost nearly 2 stone on it about 6 years ago. How did the bike ride go? I walked to my local shops and back, was shattered when I got home due to the heat and a pram full of baby and shopping!

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 21/04/2009 16:43

Bike ride was good thanks, went with some friends and we were out for just over an hour.

I'm going to be having a long walk tomorrow as will be without the car which is in the garage - so will have to walk everyhwere I need to go which should be good exercise!

babyignoramus · 21/04/2009 23:07

Hello, back again. I've been really good until today - my friend owed me a curry and I've also had a couple of glasses of wine and a chocolate bar . I think if you're going to have a treat you may as well go all out on one day - better than cheating for several days in a row, I'm sure that's worse!

I was 11 stone this morning, will weigh myself tomorrow out of interest!!!

I'm out for a drink tomorrow too - vodka and diet coke rather than lager methinks.....

OP posts:
babyignoramus · 21/04/2009 23:09

Well done on the weight loss Rachie! sorry posted before reading the thread. That'll be the wine then....

OP posts:
RachieW · 22/04/2009 14:15

No worries Baby- you should be celebrating with wine and non-diet food, 7lb already is excellent! I finished off a bar of dairy milk last night, I wish I could say it was a small one but no it was rather large. I had a similar thought to you, that if I'm going to treat myself it may as well be worth it. Also now it's gone so I can't be tempted anymore .

I'm not finding today too bad. I did have a bigger breakfast though, cornflakes and toast but that was only because we had a slow start to the morning and by the time ds and I were dressed it was 10.30. I'm going to go for a walk in a while for a bit of daily exercise. It's quite tempting to get an ice cream in this weather though...

Stripey how's the walking going today? I've had a look at foodfocus. It looks like a really good site, I think I might stick with ww at the moment as I know it but give ff a go if this doesn't work. I'm sure ww does something similar but you have to pay and being on mat leave I'm saving all my pennies for nice things .
