well done! how?!

sunnyshine · 10/04/2009 20:25

how please?

Bunch · 10/04/2009 20:28

Jason Vale, The juice master. Haven't stuck to it 100% tho. Still had Chinese one night for example. And haven't really done much exercise.

hmmm, interesting! did you buy a juicer? how much was it? did you feel like shit for days?

Bunch · 10/04/2009 20:37

I already had a juicer luckily but had to buy a blender. I would say I felt awful on day 1, had a really bad headache and felt really tired in the afternoon. Took some paracetamol and had a nap. Was fine the next day. As I said, didn't stick to it completely.

Oh I was thinking about doing part of his plan as have just got juicer. DId you do juice 90% of the time? I was thinking about doing it for the mornings and then have normal smaller portions for lunch/dinner. Was thinking of doing exercise to.

Did any of the juices taste horrid?

Bunch · 10/04/2009 21:09

I've been juicing for breakfast and lunch and if I get hungry any other time as a snack, so not eating most of the day. But I've been eating cooked meals at tea time along with the family (had smaller portions and just plain, healthy foods, except the Chinese ). I don't like a couple of the juices but you can replace them with ones you do like. I did exclusively juice on days 1,2 and Thurs. Does that make sense?

Don't want to burst any bubbles, but what you've lost will be mostly water, as you've cut back on carbs and consuming liquid diets. You're gonna find the majority goes back on when you revert to "normal" foods.

Sorry....!

Bunch · 11/04/2009 14:54

Thats fine. Only wanted to loose some quickly cos I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks so wanted to at least start the holiday thiner!!

ShowOfHands · 11/04/2009 14:58

I'm pleased that you're pleased but MarkPT is right. A restrictive diet is no replacement for a healthy, balanced diet and active lifestyle.

That said, it's fabulous that you have found the motivation and hope you can channel it into a sustained and healthy weight loss/lifestyle.

Have a lovely holiday.

Bunch · 11/04/2009 15:01

Thank you. I know that losing weight that quickly isn't the way to do it but as I said I just wanted to get a little thiner quick!! It has given us 100s of ideas for the future tho, and inspiration to keep juicing regularly. The DCs love some of the strange combinations including raw beetroot, courgette, watercress!!!

ShowOfHands · 11/04/2009 15:04

I love juicing! Some of the combinations that you think won't work do surprisingly well and it's a wonderful way of getting lots of nutrients.

Honestly, I think you should be proud and you seem to know what to expect in terms of realistic long term weight loss.

I've just trudged on with my 1-2lbs a week for a year and have somehow lost 2 stones. It's very pleasing.

Anyway, off for a run!

Bunch · 11/04/2009 15:06

Well done SOH, that's the way weight should be lost. I am proud! At least my ballgowns fit me again ready for my cruise!!!

Show of Hands - that 1-2 lbs in a rate that the body can handle and deal with, that's why it will be sustainable - good work

Bunch - fair enough! It doest that job for that!
Wehn you get back look to maybe still juice if you like it, but swap out just 1 meal a day, and you will find the results more manageable

Bunch · 11/04/2009 20:52

MarkPT- yes, that's more or less what I was planning to do. I hate to sound cliched but it is a life style change.

OP posts:
MarkPT · 12/04/2009 09:22

nope agreed. If you want more of a change, I'm gonna be running a "free!" transformation challenge in around a month. will give food plans, home workouts for a month if anyone is interested?
Oh, I'm a Personal Trainer by the way. Only think I'll probably be looking for out of it is a testimonial at the end!! Hope this isn't advertising as it's free?!
