I don't know if this is the right area to start this thread. I've applied for a charity place in the Great North Run. I've done the run once before in 2002. I did about 16 week training programme 3x runs per week building up to an 8 mile run 2 weeks before the event which I completed in about 2h 30min. That's not a great time but the sense of achievement and the occasion were just fantastic!!

This time I would like to do minus 2 hours & want to lose my baby weight too. If anyone is also doing GNR or is about to take up jogging / running please join me so we can support each other - really helps motivation IME.

My DS is 13 months old and I've put on weight in an odd fashion, around the face / boobs / tummy, always had big boobs but otherwise I have a boyish figure. Several people over last few months have assumed I am pregnant again cos I have such a big belly. I put 3 st on during pregnancy I was 11st pre preg and am now 12 st but would love to get below 11st again - although it's not so much the weight as losing the gut. I lost half a st doing Weightwatchers before Christmas but I was really miserable dieting, I had never dieted before in my life, and it's all gone back on again really quickly. So.......... anyone out there up for it?
