Skipping?

Does anybody skip reguarly? I really want/need to do more exercise - I currently only go swimming a couple of times a week but feel I need something to get my heart going..

I want to, I bought a jazzy skipping rope, but haven't because I have found you really have to do it outside (unless you want to strangle yourself on the light fittings), and risk being spotted by the neighbours.

It might be a bit hard on the feet/joints I suppose, much like jogging, unless you do it gently & wear good shoes. And bra.

Good luck!

So I do star jumps inside instead.

I've also started a Latin DX class, salsa-based excercise which really does get your heart going, and I love it, unlike aerobics or anything sports-based. Perhaps they do one in your area?

Ok, sometimes I skip along the beach [so long as I'm completely alone] you know, proper skipping without a rope.

It gets my heart racing and makes me feel quite invigorated, tis good exercise and fun too.

Do you have good pelvic floor muscles? I found mine weren't as good as i thought when i tried skipping.

I skip ! Well ok, lets be honest, I go through 'phases' of skipping and/or jogging when I am trying to slim down a bit, followed by long phases of being too tired to do either !

Started skipping week before last again, I use the kids rope, in front of the tv, try to do 30 mins, plus other warm up and down exercises.

But feel I am slipping already, have done nothing this week !

pelvic floor muscles are.. erm...not good and so leakage is a problem.

Can't believe I'm admitting to skipping like a 4 year old with the bladder control of a granny.
