My friend is addicted to it, it gives her shakes and makes her gring her teeth, akin to someone on speed.

I thik it's not a good idea. The best way to lose weight is exercise, careful slow reduction of calories, healthy food and not eating after 6pm.

It's speed, basically, but legal. Lord only knows why they advertise it - all it does is up the metabolism, which you can do safely naturally.... drink more water, eat less carbs, more fruit n veg and walk lots; you could lose a stone in 8 weeks or so if you do that

speed does that to you when you're taking it as a "slimming pill". Is it a herbal form of speed?

only way to keep weight off long-term is to change your lifestyle and the way you view food really, imo. Have you tried paul mcKenna. I think that's a very sensible way to lose weight and makes perfect sense.

so.... ahem... if i were to ignore all sane and reasonable advice. if i didn't want to stop eating shite and couldn't be arsed to exercise would it then work? really? would a thing you can buy, not even over the counter, but off the shelf, really work and make me lose a bit?

and if it's anything like speed with the same side effects you will feel completely shit after a couple of weeks. Truly horrible.

OP - if you do come back to this thread, DisasterArea has a point. I think that to respond to your first post on this thread without considering your previous one about being a size 8 and hating your body shape etc would be wrong. Anyone who says they are a size 8, can?t bear to look in a mirror and has real body hate going on, then goes on to post about needing to lose a further stone, wanting opinions on a chemical solution is going to meet with concern and not much support for your plan. Sorry.

If you are really desperate to improve your image and change how you feel, I suspect you are not going to find the answer in a pill. It is not rocket science to understand the simple fact that to be healthy you need to eat and live healthily. There are no cheats or quick fixes that will help you medium or long term. While you might choke on the unoriginality of this, try to see past it and be open minded enough to consider there might be some truth in there: perhaps you should look at what is going on in your head before you consider changing your body. You might find the solution is less about looking in the mirror and more about the way you are thinking and feeling right now.xx

thank you bagebird - i genuinely think that you (and flightplan) have given me the most critical, and yet constructive advice. I do exercise, by the way - but I think I need to change GP and go and talk to some one

The friend I mentioned, she is thin, not skin and bones thin, but thin.

She too hates her body, she will have a roast apple for dinner. At the moment she is having counselling and she doesn't talk about the whys and whats but it seems to be helping her.

Please confide in someone.
