caught sight of myself this morning and was horrified to see that my belly is actually hanging over the waistband of my knickers...dc3 is only 8 weeks so i'm not expecting to have a flat tummy but ut seems to have streched into a totally different shape!

I'm bf'ing so a bit limited in what I can do to start losing the excess weight. I weigh about 11 1/2 stone, and want to get down to 10 or under. I'm 5'3'' so really can't carry that much weight.

I have a mini stepper and a post-pregnancy dvd but haven't got around to using them yet - i'm soooooo tired all the time and seem to snack late afternoon when my energy levels are lowest.

What can I do about this belly? It's awful!

Oh honey, your baby is 8 weeks!!! You're really not giving yourself enough time. Isn't there a saying- 9mths on, 9mths off? Well, it's true. Breasfeeding burns extra calories anyway, you need the extra energy so carry on snacking is what I say. I would just try and pick healthy options for now. I remember thinking of things like rocking my newborn to sleep all the time as exercise enough at that stage.

I know how miserable it can be but yes! It will go! But not yet- as Name said, it's only been 8 weeks. If it's any help, I'm 5'8" and 8 weeks after having ds2 I was about 13 stone. I felt like a real heffalump. Not to mention the saggy tummy. But you're not really supposed to do too much before 12 weeks anyway, so for occasional 'make-me-feel-better-now' times get some nice big hold-you-in-pants. Btw I'm now back to pre-pregg weight.

lol at big pants! and yes, I do consider rocking the baby/pacing the floor with him as exercise...

thanks for replying...

i did start the dvd yesterday, what a killer! only managed 15 minutes before ds2 woke up. also went snack shopping ad bought lots of healthy bits and pieces - i figure that if I choose the healthy option rather than the crap that's going to help. Think that while I'm bf'ing there's not much I can do other than a bit of exercise...it's just trying to get motivated after yet another sleepless night is soooo hard...
