Yes you can drink wine (5 syns per glass - small wine glass not the goldfish bowl type ) and yes, you can eat out as long as you stick to the plan. HTH

Well my answer is going to be still yes, but slightly different!

You get 10-15 syns to eat/drink per day on top of all the other "free" food. So you could choose to use your syns for wine or chocolate for example. There are things you can eat out that would mean you are still eating free food plus maybe some syns.

Or you could do what I did and every now and then just have a night off and eat/drink what I wanted to. I once went on a mumsnet meet up and stopped counting the syns when I got to 80 ... and that was just alcohol . And I still lost weight that week.

Some people like to just stick rigidly to the plan, I preferred to have the occasional night or even weekend off and then go back to it.

Ok, thanks.

Eating out and sticking to the plan sounds tricky, (well, if you don't want to eat jacket spud and beans all the time!) I'm guessing they give you some sort of guide to eating out though? We don't eat out loads but probably once a week we have either lunch out or a takeaway.

The wine thing sounds doable, I can live with that.

You can eat out quite well on a 'red' day - e.g. steak and a jacket potato with veg. Depends what you want to eat really. You're never going to be able to follow the plan and have an indian for example. However, I eat out from other places, and make my own lower fat curries now.

Depending upon how much weight you have to lose (doesn't work so well if you just have a stone or so to lose) I found that following the plan rigidly 5 days a week and loosely at weekends was enough for me to lose 2lbs a week. That included a whole bottle of Baileys some weekends
