I don't mean so much the diet itself, I mean the mental attitude thing. I got back down to pre pg weight after my first and second children and then 2 years after the third amd still 2 stone overweight. I am going to start SW tomorrow with a group of friends, but already am wondering if it will really work this time. I am so fed up with trying to motivate myself - you know, THAT dress, THAT party, etc etc and am almost resigned to the fact that I may well end up wasting more money on failure. I am really sure there are many of us like that on here - so tell me - what did you do to firstly get on trackm, and then stay on track?

Hi MuchLess - you sound like me - after dd's 1 & 2 I lost the weight really quite easily but after dd3 I'm about 1.5 stone heavier than I used to be & she was 3 before x-mas! I have wasted so much money doing SW & WW & even buying chinese weight loss teabags which were the biggest waste of money out! I will be watching this thread with great interest as every day my day revolve thinking about how I can lose the weight but I just don't seem to have what it takes anymore.

Bump please - MuchLess I've just seen some pics of me on Face Book at the weekend & my god I looked huge! Think I'll print off one of these yuk photo's has sordid reminder as how gross I look - have you tried this??

I have got a whole load of those...... I went to the first meeting tonight. Interestingly as it was a new group we were all first timers there, but a lot had done SW before and were talking the talk.... a few of us were cringing in the background at how huge we were. Maybe humility and fear of failure will prevail over gungho 'THIS IS IT' mentality???? god, I hope so

MuchLessTiredNow · 04/02/2009 22:12

there are 2 options - one is that they won;t spill and 2 is that no one has ever conquered this

Problem is that as you get older your metabolism changes - add having babies into the mix and it can take ages to sort out what is best for you as far as dieting is concerned. I had 2 babies really young and after baby number 2 was back in jeans after 3 weeks. Then I ended up having babies in my early 40s (second marriage) AND I managed to get pregnant again when baby number 3 was only 13 months old.

I had not lost all the weight from Number 3 & it was not until number 4 was 9 that I managed to lose the final stone. How did I do it - I went "wheat free". It was a homeopathic doctor that suggested it as I was complaining of feeling tired all the time, bloated all the time and I could burp for England .

I admit it wasn't easy but I can maintain the weight, despite being less active at the moment due to a condition called Otosclerosis.

I wrote an article about how I went about it on another website I publish on. The link is HERE and there's other links to websites with further info and recipes etc.

Would be interested to hear if anyone else has tried "wheat free".

I didnt realise how much of a grazer i was until i got an evening job. Now i work 6 til 10, 3 nights a week and all day sundays. When i had a week off work, i put on 5lbs!

I've managed to lose it all again when i went back to work, and giving my wii fit a pounding, but i've got another week off coming and i'm trying to get prepared by having loads of fruit all cut up and ready to snack on

I've also got my "OMG IS THAT ME!" picture hanging on the fridge to remind me that i dont wanna go there again
