Has anyone gained weight using the normal copper IUD (no hormones)

I have had the mirena coil in for nearly 2 yrs and over the last year have been having bad side affects- depression, weight gain that i cannot get off not matter what i try and fed up of looking like a liar!-slight acne etc. I am seeing the doctor today but not sure what to do about contraception. The weight issue is a big thing for me and can't keep taking things that may contribute to me gaiing weight. I live a healthy life style, have 5 kid so always on the go.

I was just wondering if anyone uses the copper coil and if had any of the symptoms as above-mainly weight?

Have to say, I am considering taking my copper coil out as I'm beginning to think that 7lb weight gain in the last 7 months could have something to do with coil. I haven't changed my eating habits for the worse and have been trying to loose some weight, but always seem to be bloated, and can't shift the recently gained weight. I know my doctor says there is no way that you can gain weight as no hormones but maybe bleeding for 10-14 days with copper coil doesn't help. Periods are very heavy and lots of cramping, have been told it will settle down but 8 months on, there hasn't been much change.
