How can I get more excercise ??

Hi, I used to be very fit. I've always either had a sporting hobby or walked long distances with my daughter in her buggy.
Now my daughter dosn't use her buggy, I can only walk as far as she can.
I'm really not getting enough excercise at the moment, I work nights on a rota so it's hard to join any clubs.
I'm going to buy an excercise video to do at home when my daughters in bed. Is that enough? what else could I do?

Can you leave an hour early for your shift once or twice a week and do some exercise then? I know it's hard when you're working and bringing up kids . Or take up yoga / pilates / something you can practice at home.

I did join a running club with my friend recently but it nearly killed me. It was meant to be for begginners.
I would've found it very hard just to power walk the distance we ran. There were ladys in their 60's who were running rings around me.
I'd like to re join the club but I need to get a lot fitter first.
Maybe I'll start with a video, then work up.

I could make a start by not sitting at the lap top and going to do the dishes.

Do lunge walking, not joking honest! When you walk from one room to another make them big lunge steps.

If you have two minutes do 10 squats, run upstairs etc.

Fit exercise in when you can. Listen to one song on the radio and bop like a mad thing.

Small bursts through the day really add up.
