Is anyone on the new WW Discover Plan? is it any different to the old plans?

I'm thinking of going back to WW since having dd2 i feel i want to loose the rest of my baby weight before summertime

the last time i went it was the 'Switch' Plan

but i found that a bit hard to get my head round and carried on with the 'points' before falling pg with ds3

so basically i haven't been for 2/3 years and want to know if its changed and how, and if its worth going back as i have all the stuff from the switch plan so could just carry on at home....

TIA

Not much. They have taken away the core plan but say you can still follow it. The only thing that's slightly different is that they are promoting filling foods and all recipes and food lists have filling foods highlighted.

Otherwise it's just the same old count points.

oh right

i suppose i could just follow the 'old' style as that worked for me and see how i get on

i struggle doing it on my own though and suppose the meetings may be useful again knowing that i have to go and get weighed in front of someone does make a difference!

I lost 3 lbs 1st week, 1 1/2 lbs 2nd, and even 1/2 lb over Christmas.

It's quite easy to follow, and if you pay monthly, which I do, tracking and meal plans etc can be done on line, which is fun.

Still need to weigh once a week.

do you do the esource thing then?

i've never tried it that way, how much does it cost?

I just gone back after 3 years and 2 DCs.

I also can't do it alone as seem to need the weekly weigh ins to keep me motivated. Its all points this time - like someone else said.

The only difference I can see is that you can pay monthly which makes it £4.14 a meeting (which I think is cheaper than 3 years ago?) and it means you can access all their online stuff too which I find a huge help.

Am only 5 days in but pretty determined to lose the 2 stone I need to lose before my best friends wedding in May.

It is an amalgamation of the two plans - emphasising the good 'core' foods, but ensuring that you don't overeat (which it was possible to do on Core) by still pointing them.

I am not very impressed, although I understand the logic. It seems a cop out and I was following the Core Plan. My Leader is still supporting it though and there are a lot of us doing it in my meeting.

sparklesandwine · 12/01/2009 16:40

how do you get to see all the online stuff? do you pay monthly online or in the meeting?

sorry if i'm being thick

You can see basic stuff without paying or being a monthly club pass holder. However, if you want the really useful stuff, the site comes free if you buy a monthly pass at your meeting.

sparklesandwine · 12/01/2009 18:52

oh right thanks for that

i think i'll go to the meeting this week and see what its all about

btw if you only buy one or two monthly passes does that mean you get the site stuff 'free' just for that month? i'm a gold card holder and once i'm back within my goal weight i won't have to pay for the meetings any more so does that mean i then wouldn't have full access to the site?

sorry for all the questions

OP posts:

No, unfortunately when you get back to goal, you lose access to the site, which a friend of mine is really annoyed about. Our leader has asked, along with others I understand, for that to be changed!

sparklesandwine · 13/01/2009 11:51

thats what i thought would happen! thanks for the info Dior its much appreciated
