I'd love to know too. Especially how to keep the weight off!

I've lost four stones (so far). My tips -

  • go to bed early, it's stopped me nibbling and getting the munchies.
  • gradually reduce my portion sizes. I'd put on a plate as normal and then take off a spoonfull of rice / pasta / potatoes etc, but add an extra spoonful of veggies. After eating half my meal - I'd stop and load the dishwasher or do something. If I was still hungry after this I'd carry on. Often I wouldn't be.
  • I never buy cheese any more. I cannot control my desire for it.
  • park a little bit further away from school every day until it wasn't worth the bother to drive and now walk.
  • I never aim to lose the whole amount. Just a half stone (or one dress size) and I will stop for a bit. Normally when I reach this - I'm happy to carry on. Once I took a few weeks off.
  • Lots of vegetable soups on and I allow myself to have as much of this as I want.
  • Shock tactics. When I'm really tempted to blow out - e.g. eat a whole packet of doritos I imagine my children at my funeral. I tend to lose my appetite then.
  • Sometimes when I'm really tempted as well - I decide to do something else really nice for myself - a long luxurious bath, go to whsmiths and buy a new chicklit novel, have a facial. Just to buy a few more hours until dinner time when I can eat normally.
