I've dont the same, dont worry. I am already a member of WW and am very nervous about my weigh in tomorrow lol. At the last look (this morning) i'd put on about 5 or 6lbs, but that was over the last 3 weeks as i've had lots of boozing and christmas parties.

Got any plans on how you're going to lose the christmas bulge?

MrsDoylesMole · 28/12/2008 22:13

So glad im not alone. Not sure RGPargy any
ideas?
I used to do my own ww diet at home (points based)which worked for years but now doesnt for some reason.Tried following the principles of slimming world too but that didnt work either.
Exercise is def part of the plan though to include walking and rebounding at home.

Cant recommend anything really MDM but the only thing i will suggest is going along to WW meetings, if you can afford it (monthly pass is cheaper plus you get online access to thousands of points values etc). I find that going along to WW really helps keep me focussed, even if i have had a bad 3 weeks or so because i know that if i wasn't a member and didn't have a regular meeting to go along to, i'd have put on alot more weight and would be in alot more trouble that what i am now!

I know it's cliche but i really do find that going along to the meetings really really helps me.

MrsDoylesMole · 28/12/2008 22:19

Maybe if i just stick to eating tons of fruit and veg and drinking lots of water and everything else wholemeal and low fat?plus the exercise?

Dont fancy going to meetings tbh.

That would work MrsD if you're disciplined enough.
I find I need something extra to make me stick to it initially like keeping a record of everything I eat and making sure I don't go over 1200 cals or following a diet so I can only eat what is included for that day. The first few days of a diet are the hardest!

I lost 2 stones throughout the year but I've put on 7lbs this month.
I need to lose 1.5 stones.

RGChristmasPargy · 28/12/2008 22:29

I used to write everything down too when i was counting calories. I found it was a great help as it helped me look at food in a different way completely!

Wintersun · 28/12/2008 22:31

It does, RGP, and it makes you realise how much you actually overeat

MrsDoylesMole · 28/12/2008 22:31

Sounds interesting
Im not too good at dicipline
how many cals a day would i need ?

OP posts:
Wintersun · 28/12/2008 22:31

Not you personally of course, generally speaking

Wintersun · 28/12/2008 22:34

I think you're not meant to eat less than 1200. From diets I've seen, you generally do 1 or 2 weeks on 1200 then go onto 1400 to lose about 2lbs a week.
It depends on your height, weight, activity levels etc but 1400 should be fine.

Wintersun · 28/12/2008 22:36

Try this website to find out how many cals you should have a day and you can also log your food on it.

CharleeInPantoPaperChains · 29/12/2008 07:54

Looks great!

Maybe we chould start a FoodFocus thread on here for anyone wanting some support loosing wieght with a general healthy eating plan in the NY?

magentadreamer · 29/12/2008 07:55

Having signed up it says it'll take me till May to lose 3 stone at 2lb a week. I'm also dusting down my SW books as we speak. I've eaten crap and more crap plus lots of red vino over Xmas. My first goal is to fit into my works uniform without looking a total Mrs Blobby!

Heres to a thinner leaner all of us in the New Year!

CharleeInPantoPaperChains · 29/12/2008 07:59

here if anyone wants to join.

MrsMattie · 29/12/2008 08:00

I'm starting a bit of a health kick on new year's day (need to scoff all the goodies left in my cupboard first! ). I have baby weight to lose, too - about 2 stone all in all - but am aiming to lose a stone slowly and sensibly initially.

Lots of walking and no biccies usually makes a big difference for me

CharleeInPantoPaperChains · 29/12/2008 08:00

I di SW and it does work but our team leader lady left and was replaced by a complete cowbag of a woman, plus i was llosing motivation fast.

I will rejoin if this doesn't work though.

MrsDoylesMole · 29/12/2008 23:27

Right i am starting tomorrow

Me - I am on a mission to finish the Christmas Bailey's. However, I am flagging and still have 2 big bottles to finihs.

I once had a kick ass thread on here, it was good. I can kick ass again, in a new year styleee

Furball · 30/12/2008 06:24

well the only naughty things I had yesterday were a slither (literally 3 mouthfuls - but I do have a big mouth ) of christmas cake and a ripple. Which ok is still not on the straight and narrow. But I did eat loads of fruit and actually felt hungry before lunch and tea!
