Is there any way I can lose half a stone in three weeks without starving myself?

[Spanx Higher Power are my saviours Magic Knicker shop is also great]

I've just lost 3 stones in 3 months going low-carb/low GI - lots of fruit and veg and protein. The weight-loss took a couple of weeks to kick off, though.

Sheik - am looking earnestly at your link as DS2 described my (shrunken) tummy as 'squashy' this morning.

LetThemEatCake · 12/11/2008 16:17

I lost a stone earlier this year by doing the Carol Vorderman 28-day detox.

Loads of food, was honestly never hungry. But it is essentially vegan and wheat-free so you have to be prepared for that. But in terms of not starving yourself and getting great results, I'd highly recommend it.

Higher power spanx or ordinary, is there that much difference? I'm in a similar position but too greedy lazy to actually diet!

LilRedWG · 12/11/2008 16:43

TBH - I'm too greedy too - not sure if I could do the total detox, but may give it a go. Would be great to lose that stone.

Slimming world and a step class every other day and I assure you you will drop more than 7lbs!

LilRedWG · 12/11/2008 16:53

TBH - I'm not keen on going to any weiaght watcher/slimming world type clubs. Will have a look online at the principles of SW and see how closely I can follow at home. Will also find a step class.

The Monica Grenfell apple detox (as seen in Womans own a couple of weeks ago) brilliant I've only been doing it since Sunday & I've lost 5lbs already. I can honestly say I've not felt hungry or had craving for chocolate

thesockmonsterofdoom · 12/11/2008 16:56

poppy, what is that?

twoluvlykids · 12/11/2008 16:57

what about a detox cream and wrap type thing? apparently, the sanctuary one from boots is excellent at helping to shift liquid from belly and thighs.

good for a temporary quick acting fix.

LilRedWG · 12/11/2008 18:11

This one Poppy? Looks okay. I think I could manage to do at least the first week of that.

I would recommend low-carbing or Atkins - you lose weight very quickly.

1/2 a stone would be a doddle!

poppy90 · 12/11/2008 23:16

yes LilRedWG that's the one. I think its realistic food that I would happily eat, not your mung beans soaked in wheatgerm etc!

poppy90 · 12/11/2008 23:18

thesockmonsterofdoom it's the one LilRedWG has linked below

chuffinell · 14/11/2008 13:14

lilyred - join us on the juicing thread, its a fantastic way to lose weight without being constantly hungry. i have lost just under half a stone in 3 weeks - you could do too

OrmIrian · 14/11/2008 13:20

Low-carb. I lost a stone in 4 weeks. Long-term - go running! Works a treat and I don't diet any more.

LilRedWG · 17/11/2008 12:47

Have decided to cut out bread (normally eat four slices of white a day plus occassional garlic bread/naan) and alcohol and see what happens. I've put on weight this week and have drunk far too much.

I am also drinking a mug of water whilst the kettle boils for my regular cups of tea.

I have my Spanx and am eating apples when peckish.

Thanks guys. All ideas were great but I've no energy for mega dietting. Decided to be fat and happy.
