Just seen this advertised in National Press.

Has anyone ever tried it?

Is it pricey?

More to the point, Does it really work?

I'm intrigued..... I had never heard of this programme before...

I?m on day 3, I feel AMAZING, no headaches, no tiredness I?m happy rather than grumpy and I have so much energy. I wish I had started this health lifestyle 20 years ago.

DaisyLondon · 04/04/2012 21:28

shootingstarz - that's great to hear!! Which sachetshave you tried? I start on Saturday, was given some samples - and have tried the caramel cold drink which is fine.

Which clinic do you go to btw?

AGal · 05/04/2012 15:21

Oh my goodness ....I am down 2.3lbs this week which makes a reduction of 10.6 in BMI and over 22%, one fifth of my body weight, shed since 15 Dec - 15 weeks.

I have to pinch myself .......yes - this is me - the woman who has repeated failed at WW, on line weight coaching and much more. I started with paleo (aka the caveman diet or low fat high carb - LCHF for beginners | Dietdoctor.com ) and was successful - but it was slow and I felt overwhelmed by the length of time it would take to get to goal. So when I found Alizonne with the treatments to shape and target fat loss and help the skin retract, I first ignored it! I met one man who had been successful. But I thought he was an exception. Then I met a woman who had also lost loads. Neither looked gaunt or like someone who had been doing LighterLife! So I took the big step and committed. I just put one foot in front of the other and did what the clinic said. I am astonished to be 4lbs short of 5 stones lighter. I am lighter than I have been this millennium. Amazing and wonderful.

And now I'm matter of fact about the fact that I loose something each week - sometimes it's a little and sometimes it's a lot - no rhyme or reason to why it varies. But inevitably my weight goes down each week. And the 'just say no thanks' muscle to alcohol, cakes, icecream, roast dinners and chocolate easter eggs gets stronger, and I am getting slick at managing the 5 sachets a day (shakes and cooked savoury or sweet foods), the lunchtime salads and the evening veg). I am taking it for granted that I will stay on the programme and get results.

The first few stones didn't seem to make much different to how I felt- it was only approaching 4 stones that I have started to feel more lithe. And moving from 26/28s to 20s is amazing. Again the smallest size I've worn this millenium. I don't really remember when I last wore size 20s. I am really happy about how my skin is retracting - a little soft on my tummy but not overhanging like some people 5 stones into a 10 stone weight loss. So I think teh Alizonne treatments are really worthwhile.

And I no longer feel so stiff in the mornings when I come down stairs.

So I am quietly satisfied and excited about the next 5 stone. I know now I can do this.

So bonne courage to you if you are reading this and starting out on Alizonne.

Good luck!

Ali

mrspannie · 06/04/2012 07:02

Hello everyone! Good Friday.

AGal - congratulations on your success so far, you are a true inspiration and I've been re-reading your posts whenever I think this diet is too hard! Thank you and very well done.

Marlie and shooting starz - I think you started roughly the same time as me, so I'm really interested to see how you get on.

DaisyLondon and Malik - very best of luck over the next week or so.

A little bit of an update from me: I've now lost 5kg on Alizonne, in 2 weeks - so really feeling good about that. But still have another 30kg to go, so I'm here for the long haul and I think I will be on the journey for another 6 months or so. I've started to get into a routine now and it is getting easier. No headaches anymore. Breakfast is either the Cappuccino or Vanilla sachet (with coffee in it). Mid morning i do at work and it's usually porridge. Lunch is usually soup with a big salad. My favourite soups are beef and onion and also mushroom. Before I leave work I have my 4th sachet (usually orange and pineapple cold drink). And for supper I have a big plate of vegetables with either an omelette or potato pie followed by rhubarb.

I haven't deviated so far, except for forgetting my bedtime pill a few times.

Enjoy the weekend but don't be tempted by all the evil Easter food hanging around. Onwards and Downwards!

mrspannie · 06/04/2012 07:31

Forgot to say that I haven't told people at work that I'm doing Alizonne. They know I'm dieting, but I haven't revealed it's Alizonne as I'm worried they'll tell me I'm bonkers for spending so much! People just don't understand how impossible it is to lose weight. One guy last week said all I needed to do was stop eating in between meals and then I'd be thin again. Ha! I wanted to handbag him. I've tried every diet (particularly WW) before but I always give up as soon as there's a significant plateau in the weight loss usually about 10kg into it.

I haven't told my parents yet either but we will be visiting them for a long weekend soon and I don't think I will be able to get away with saying I'm just on a diet. Dreading telling them and them giving me their "oh dear, well this is an inconvenience, if only you listened to us about dieting 20 years ago" face. Tips?

I know doing Alizonne is a bit selfish. Spending all that money on myself feels wrong, but I'm also inconveniencing people. My DH and two kids can't really go to a restaurant with me anymore. I don't fancy joining any of the social evenings at work in case I get tempted. And coming home very late from central London once a week after my treatment and relying on others to look after the kids also feels super indulgent. But I'm still feeling positive about seeing this all the way through. Hopefully people will be more supportive when the results become more obvious.

Does anyone have any tips around eating out whilst on phase 1?

malik21 · 06/04/2012 18:23

Hi iv got my medgem on the 12th april.. kinda stressin now cuz iv got a budget. Dont know wether il be able to afford it cuz im guessin it all depends on your medgem n how many weeks it will take for you to loose the w8...
il c wa hapens neway n keep use updated :D

DaisyLondon · 07/04/2012 09:27

Mrs Pannie - well done on your loss! I'll be doing the programme for 5-6 months, so let's keep in touch about our progress etc.

Re your parents, can you tell them you are doing a low carb / cal diet of the internet which your friend tried, and had great success with. And it's reputable and that you can buy soup / shake packets from an online website. Tons of salad and veg allowed so that's all good. Do you think you could say something like that instead of saying you are on Alizonne.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
Just about to take my first set of supplements n first Alizonne breakfast!! X

DaisyLondon · 07/04/2012 09:31

Also, if you are going to invest money the best place to do it is in your health. The sacrifice of these few months will bring a lifetime of happiness and good health to your family.

Take care xxx

DaisyLondon · 07/04/2012 22:29

Phew! 9:30pm and I've finally finished my last sachet for the day. So the day went something like this:

Downed all my supplements, no trouble. Fine with the quinton as well. Breakfast was vanilla sachet with a spoon of coffee and it was delicious. My favourite sachet so far. Mid morning I had a curry chicken soup which was fine. Started to feel really hungry for lunch, and made potato and veg burger with salad which was also a good meal although I think the potato sachet will take some getting used to! Treatments later in the day - ultra sound was a bit itchy and p-r-i-ckly but totally bearable. The 2nd treatment was actually quite enjoyable although felt a bit tender on my lower tummy but again it wasn't a major issue!!
After the treatment, had my 4th sachet the orange drink which I didn't like very much but I had started to feel a bit disoriented and dazed by now so thought it was important to down it, which I did but not a big fan and will swapping the orange sachets I have!
Got home and had a bit of a headache so I took a paracetamol. Felt fine in 30 mins. Ate half pizza sachet topped with my veg - didn't like pizza texture maybe I didn't make it right. Anyway I threw half the pizza and instead made a hot choc which i'd heard so much about. I had half and gave half to hubby (he's not on the diet but is being lovely and trying a bit from each of my meals) It was yum and i'm glad I threw half the pizza and ended my night with half a mug of that lovely hot choc. Mmmmmmm...

All in all, a good first day I'd say!

mrspannie · 08/04/2012 08:00

A perfect first day! Well done! The headaches and hunger will go on day 2 or 3. Don't push yourself too hard over the next few days. Try to take a siesta or an early night if you can. Limit the exercise and keep pushing to Day 4, when it all clicks into place.

I didn't like the orange sachet either (too much like taking one of those Rubex vit C pills) but I do like the orange and pineapple one.

The pizza is difficult to make nice, but if you put in a spray of oil and a bit of salt into the base mix and kneed it a lot before you put it in the oven it is slightly better. The topping needs at least 10 minutes of soaking to get to the right consistency. Bake the base on both sides before you put the topping on. Then put the whole lot assembled back in the oven.

Thank you for the advise about how to handle my parents. I'm going to leave it a bit and see how much weight I've lost at the time we see them before fully deciding. Maybe if I've lost 15kg by then it would be worth coming clean. Wink

malik21 · 08/04/2012 18:09

DaisyLondon · 09/04/2012 00:45

Hey Malik21, thanks for your msg. Day 2 was ok as well, no headaches. There are sachets I dont like but I'm glad there are some I do like. I also like experimenting, so I'm trying different recipes. I can't say much on weight loss just yet, but I'll update you after my first week weigh in which is on Saturday.

Re starting, blood works come back in 48 hrs and you can basically start straight after. So dont lose the motivation, give it a go!

I went in for consultation, medgem & bloodworks on 2 April Monday & could have started on Weds as they had my bloods back on Tuesday but I wanted to start on a day off work so I started Saturday, still quite quick. 5 days after medgem.

Anyway, good luck with 12th. Let me know how you get on? X

DaisyLondon · 09/04/2012 00:46

Marlie43 · 09/04/2012 11:56

Hi everyone.

Daisy - sounds like you have got off to a great start; I hope you have a good first weigh in to reward the effort (but dont dispair if not). I'm now half way through week three. A tricky weekend as horribly hormonal plus we had friends to stay. Shopping and cooking for family and guests plus kids scoffing chocolate eggs was first major test of willpower! I felt really miserable doing a big shop for lovely food and booze that I can't taste. But managed ok, everyone else had slow roasted lamb and I had mushrooms stuffed with a mix of potato cake and sheep cheese sachets. All had roasted veg and spinach. The mushrooms were v nice, so didn't feel totally left out; lots of sparkling water instead of red wine! Alizonne does make it easier as I just don't feel hungry, even when confronted with a fridge full of goodies. But will be glad to get back to routine and work.

Like mrspannie I've not told people and hoping not to until the results start to show.

I'm sure it will get trickier, but so far it hasn't been nearly as bad as I expected. So long as weight goes downwards, I am sure we can all keep going... good luck everyone.
M

mrspannie · 09/04/2012 14:05

Hey everyone.

Feeling a ridiculous level of achievement today which I wanted to share with you all.

Took the family to Wagamamas for lunch. They all had chicken ginger udon (my favourite). I asked the waitress if I could have the Raw salad without any of the bits. (It normally includes beans, shallots, red onion, carrots etc). The waitress said that just leaves wouldn't be possible. I said no problem and told her I would eat later then. I asked for just a mint tea. Off she went to give in our orders to the chef and I did feel like a complete martyr for a few moments. Then the manager came over and asked me exactly what I would like. So I asked if it would be possible to have just the leaves and the green bit from spring onions and half a tbsp go olive oil on the side. She said that was no problem, Madam! Yeah. We all ate out together, I stayed completely on plan and got given a mountain of leaves to munch through. Just came home and had a vanilla sachet to round off my very yummy lunch. So happy happy! We would normally all go out together once every two weeks or so, but hadn't ventured into a restaurant since starting the diet - until today. Will definitely go back there again.

Next big hurdle is a wedding in France in a few weekends time, where there will be set menu on both the Fri and Sat nights. (and my French isn't that strong!). I'll let you know how that goes in due course, but my DH is trying to contact the venue for me in advance.

Next weigh in is on Wed, but already feeling the need for a belt on my jeans.

shootingstarz · 09/04/2012 20:03

Well done everyone, keep up the great work.

I gave up today, I just don?t like vegetables enough to eat them every day I found I was just living off the drinks and not eating anything which is obviously not good. One good thing is I have stopped drinking coke and eating sugary things and carbs. I just plan on eating healthily from now on and exercising. Good luck girls xx

mrspannie · 09/04/2012 20:32

Oooo shooting starz - so sorry you've stopped. You were doing great. But it is certainly a very hard diet to follow, so unless your head is 100% in the right place and you think you can really follow it completely to the end, then you're probably doing the right thing. Perhaps there are other diets you can investigate? Or maybe you'll come back to this one when you're ready? But I sincerely wish you the very best of luck with shifting the weight you want to lose. Take care and keep eating healthily.

DaisyLondon · 10/04/2012 18:23

Hello ladies, hope you are all doing well and enjoyed the sunshine today. I am on Day 4 of the diet today and it is going fine. No headaches (only one on the first day!), have figured some of the foods I like and now just get through till weigh in on Saturday when I'll sachet swap and pick up the things I like. The diet isn't easy and I'm sure will be tougher for me when I return next week, but so far so good. And I may have sneakily weighed myself and can confirm some lbs have already gone!! :O

ShootingStarz - I'm sorry to hear you have stopped but pls don't feel bad as everyone's journey is different and we all need to do what works for us. I am only on day 4 but I think Allizone might really work for me because of the structure, discipline, £££s and accountability. You only have 2 stone to lose, so give it a go on your own. Try to avoid carbs after 6pm, that always works for me. Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide to do and do keep us posted!

MrsPannie - eeek! Well done re Wagamammas, super impressed. It feels so great to just be able to resist yummy food, doesn't it? I always feel super saintly after I've been out and stuck to herbal teas, sparkling water or salads!! Good luck with wedding - hope you are able to take your sachets with you. Have you tried any interesting packets or recipes? Do share if you do! I am loving the nuggets (only 3 times a week) and the bacon omlette pretty decent too. I want to make a nice dessert for myself this evening, thinging what to try. Have some stewed rhubarb in the fridge so maybe I'll go with vanilla dessert!

Marlie43 - sorry your weekend was awful but VERY well done for sticking to your sachets even when you were buyuing and cooking yummies for other!! Thankfully I no kiddies yet so don't really have to worry too much about getting easter eggs, and husband avoids lactose so there's hardly ever chocolate in the house. I did cook soe chorizo for him the other day, and sweet and sour tofu another but I wasn't tempted as I put great pains in putting my potato sachet together as a veggie burger so had that to look forward to. I have bought some cool kitchen bits like a milk frother, silicon muffin case, silicon tray, oil pumps to spur me on as I enjoy using new things in the kitchen and it makes it exciting to keep trying them out on the packets. Good luck to you and well done so far!! How much do you have to lose?

Malik21: can't wait to hear all about your initial consultation!! Do write a post and tell us how it goes :~) GOOD LUCK!!!

Looking forward to going in on Sat to get my packets and to stock up on my favs as I am running low and am out of the sheeps cheese as I only had 2 packets for that, and I really like it!

Take care all x

DaisyLondon · 10/04/2012 18:31

I haven't told anyone apart from hubby and mum that I'm on this programme. I've just said I am on some diet and pretty much around the suggestion i gave to mrspannie. I am worried if I were to tell colleagues or friends, they'd ridicule me for putting so much money into it, constantly question its worth and safety even plus I have failed on diets in the past (WW, Low carb etc) so don't really want to draw attention to it. Once the lbs start melting, I may share with some more people (those who might find the programme helpful!) but largely ain to keep it to myself and my two confidantes for the next 5-6 months! Good luck moi ;)

mrspannie · 10/04/2012 21:07

Grrr - I wrote lots a few minutes ago... went to post the message and it all disappeared. :(

Thank you Daisy for your blog and thoughts - all so motivating and inspirational. I don't have any recipes yet. The only "advanced" cooking I do is the rogan josh; the melanzane dish and the potato burgers. Everything else is as per the recipes in the blue folder (with lots of herbs / spices / seasoning). I only have real food in the evenings. At work it's all drinks or soup (plus my big salad).

A few quick questions:

  1. Spring onions. How close do you go to the white bit? Do you stop where the leaves become a hard cylinder. Or do you stop where the cylinder becomes white? I seem to be throwing away about half of each one.
  2. Is there a limit to how much UNrestricted veg people have. My salads at lunchtime are really massive and wondering if I should be watching my portion sizes more. I'm not having any mushroom or tomato in them... it's all the free stuff... but I do feel very piggy about the size!

Weight in tomorrow - I'll keep you posted. I'll ask the therapist the questions above and let you know answers... TTFN.

DaisyLondon · 10/04/2012 23:40

I'm sorry your post got lost! Annoying when that happens, wish it would auto save like gmail.

I am yet to make the roganjosh - might try tomorrow! Let me know if you have any tips? :) I am off work all this week so probably a bit easy for me to experiment. Will have to go down drinks route when I go to work unless I cook bits the night before and reheat at work. Not sure if they can be reheated but some alizonners do, and seem to be ok with it!

Are you on the Alizonne forums? If so, lots of easy recipe sugestions there... Let me know if you'd like any specific recipes and I can PM them to you. What are your fav drink sachets btw? I'll need to stock up on those for the work week.

Re your questions, here's what I think (but check with the therpaist/doc):

  1. Spring onions. How close do you go to the white bit?
I stop where the green bit starts to become light green and the hard part begins. I am feeding the white part of the spring onion to DH but am sure he'll soon be sick of it. One bunch lasts me 3 days
  1. Is there a limit to how much UNrestricted veg people have.
I don't think there's a limit on unlimited salad and veg but I have heard that over time we start to eat smaller salad poritons, and that the salad should be eaten at lunchtime only, not at dinner. Something to do with digesting raw stuff..

Good luck with the weigh in tomorrow!! Will be waiting to hear how it goes :)

x

Marlie43 · 10/04/2012 23:42

Hello everyone

Just wanted to share my most successful meal so far - I made a haft decent veggie chilli last night, with a combination of courgette, aubergine, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, French beans and tinned toms. All chopped small, roasted aubergines and courgette in oven first, then plenty of garlic granules, chilli powder, pinch of cumin, chives and coriander to serve, managed 3 smallish portions using 400g in total of permitted veg plus plenty of aubergine. Had it last night with half pizza sachet as flatbread and half sheeps cheese melted over it. Tonight's with cheese and potato fritters. Almost tasted like real food!

I've got between 6 and 7 stone to lose (my initial target was very ambitious 7, but 6 is probably about right to get me to size 12), hopefully by my 3 rd weigh in on Thursday, most of the first of those stones will be almost gone. I am starting to feel lighter and healthier, and haven't felt hungry at all, yet!

Good luck with your weigh-ins ladies.

mrspannie · 11/04/2012 21:03

Just a quick update to say I lost 1.4kg this week, making a total of 6.1kg in 3 weeks. Really feeling positive at the moment. Good luck girls and let us know how you get on.

Marlie43 · 11/04/2012 22:41

Well done, that's brilliant in just 3 weeks!

My 3 week weigh in is tomorrow; fingers crossed...
