DP wants to lose weight and claims he does not know how to. The truth is, that he does he just doesn't want to see it - he needs to eat less sweets and chocolate. He sees that he also eats too many carbs which don't seem to agree with him. But claims he doesn't know what to eat, "when I wake up in the morning, I don't know what to have unless it's toast or cereal".

So, can anyone point me in the direction of meal plans that are low carb. I guess it's amounts as much as anything else. What should he be eating for say a week at breakfast, lunch and supper and possibly snacks?

he's driving me crazy as my suggestions just fall on deaf ears and he wants to hire someone to help him. Which is fine if it's a motivational thing, but pointless when he knows what to do.

I had to do this when I had gestational diabetes recently.

Breakfast was 1 slice of wholemeal toast with an egg. He could have mushrooms too, or even make a mushroom omelette.

For lunch I'd have something like a chicken caesar salad (low fat dressing), or chicken kiev with peas and corn.

For dinner have things like roast chicken with lots of veg, or any grilled meat and veg really. Stick to new potatoes, or wholegrain rice or pasta for carbs, in small portions.

Things like home made chilli and bolognese are good too, with small portions of brown basmati rice.
