The idea is that we get into pairs or teams and clock up exercise minutes and lbs lost by the end of the week.

So, who's in?

SheikYerbouti · 22/09/2008 14:43

OMG, I can't add my starting weight!

MrsMcCulloch · 22/09/2008 15:09

Sheik, why don't you just log what you've lost each week without a start weight, doesn't matter what you start with it's about how much you lose.

So, here's me -
start - 10 5
ideal - 9 something, probably the same as my 'buddie'.

cheekysealion · 22/09/2008 19:29

Nah, I don't think you need to figure out calories, I only do it because I am used to it and it is no effort for me. My mum ran slimming clubs for 30 years so I know calories in most things

MrsMcCulloch · 23/09/2008 10:56

Only managed about 20 mins walking yesterday but been to the gym this morning -
bike - 20 mins
treadmill - 15 mins
xtrainer - 20 mins

Jahan · 23/09/2008 21:07

I only write my food down as it helps me to keep track and I find it motivating seeing it written down but no one has to.

Good day food wise. Resisted all cakes at work and chocolate at home (thanks dh!). "0mins walk at lunch time again. I'll be able to do some more exercise from tomorrow.

The thing that helps me most with losing weight is having a rule that I don't eat after 7 unless I'm really starving in which case I can have some fruit. It works really well.

hi all

i am doing really well - apart from cant sleep tonight!!!

Been walking everyday, and calorie intake has been 1000 cals, so very pleased with myself.....

plan to go on a bike ride today

LisaLessLumpy · 26/09/2008 07:41

Just one thing cheeky, you really shouldn't be only eating 1000 calories this early, you'll never be able to sustain it long term, and with the exercise your body will think it is starvation mode and you won't lose as much weight. You should start off at at least 1500 calories till your weight loss starts slowing down and then drop it a bit. I only want to lose another 11 pound and wouldn't go down that low yet.

Sorry sermon over, well done on what you have done so far, but up those calories please

Jahan · 26/09/2008 11:21

Argh! no sleep again last night. Ds1 has vomiting bug so I've been tending to him and cleaning and washing like a lunatic (as well as tending to a very clingy ds2. God I hope he doesn't get it).
Have just managed to grab a break and some muesli and a cup of coffee now.

Wish I could get some exercise but I'm so sorry Stormy, it seems a bit unlikely at the moment. I promise I'll make up for it next week.

I have been good with food though and I'll try to do a dvd this eve.

I read a weight loss article a while ago and the no.1 thing in there was to go to bed at 10.30.

Here's the bit -

Get to bed before 10:30pm- this is number one for a reason IT WORKS! Poor quality sleep and lack of sleep can be one of the main contributers to fat storage. When you go to bed too late (after 10:30pm) your hormones don?t react in a positive manner. You can become insulin resistance and your body will really struggle to shrug off that excess fat

So get to bed by 10:30 (at the latest) to make sure you get the biggest 'hit' of the hormones that'll help you get rid of bodyfat. I was recently at a seminar in Dublin and the worlds highest paid fitness trainer (since 1994 may I add) told us sleep was the NUMBER 1 factor in any fat loss program even ahead of diet and exercise.

LisaLessLumpy · 26/09/2008 11:49

I'm ok then, I get plenty of sleep. I'm in bed by 10pm at the latest most nights

mummc2 · 26/09/2008 13:39

sleep!!! wow thats probably why ive never been 9 stone since havin kids my sleep is on average 7hours. Not doing very well over last couple of days everythings really busy busy busy at work and am shattered when i get in. hopefully should calm down now and get back on track. At least my partners doing well, keep up the gud work MrsMcCulloch!!

LisaLessLumpy · 27/09/2008 07:39

I've LOST 3lb chuffed?, I'm ecstatic

1st Jan - Start weight 13st 1lb
26th Sept - 11st 1lb

Took me long enough though

Jahan · 28/09/2008 10:49

Oh well done Lisa!

I have lost 1.5 lbs. I'm now 10st 12.5lbs .I was 12st 7lbs at the start of Jan.
Its slow but a massive improvement.

I'm sure you must look really better too, Lisa.

I want to be 9st 7lbs by Xmas.

I'd better be stricter. Hopefully I'll get to do some exercise this week.

I only clocked up 70mins of walking this week. Thats really bad for a whole week! (not counting the 5-10mins here and there to shops, round supermarket type but just proper brisk walking)
