Does anyone do a run in the morning and one at night I am thinking about it but dp seems to think it is too much .
I am not running far tbh just a 20 min run ,but I am really enjoying it so would like to do it as often as possible.

I've just posted my last week on the Runners thread

Sunday last - 30 min slow
Monday - gym
Tuesday - rest
Wednesday - 30 min slow
Thursday - gym
Friday - 45 mins (should have been a steady run but ended up being a 25 and a 20 punctuated by 10 minutes sheltering from torrential downpour)
Sat - rest
Sunday - 33 mins (out and back run - did the second part 1 1/2 minutes faster than the first)

I'm not thinking about distance or speed at the moment, more time on my feet as I'm recovering from injury.

If you're just doing 20 minutes I should think it would be fine - although if you can do 20, walk a couple of minutes and then do another 20 you'll probably improve quicker.

Well it doesn't hurt athletes to train that way but to be honest, I wouldn't. You need your body/muscles to recover as putting them under more strain will make you far more susceptible to injury. Could you simply not just up your morning run? Or do a longer one at night?

I am jealous as at the moment haven't been able to run since pregnant with DD2 (now pregnant with DC3) and I really really miss it. Once I have had DC3, hopefully I will have the energy to start again. I used to run 9 miles 3/4 times a week, my figure was fantastic from it.

Saggar, where is runners' thread?
Can't find it and need some inspiration.

MrsFearnleyWhittingstall · 24/08/2008 13:35

Runner's thread - tis a little lacking in inspiration at the moment moondog as we all appear to be injured or pregnant.

Once DC3 is here, I am going to revitalise that runners thread!
