Had no luck with posting this in chat! Must be a skinny bunch in there. Seriously need to shed some weight. After lots of failed attempts over the past few years I'm determined to stick to a long-term plan, reducing calorie intake by a small amount and doing more exercise.

My plan is this - I'm reducing my calorie intake to 1600 per day (to maintain weight I should have 2100) and aim to do a 20 min brisk walk 3 times a week, plus 20-30 mins aerobic exercise 3 times a week (fitness video or Wii fit or swimming).

If anyone is interested in joining in, with maybe a weekly weigh-in then I'd be very glad of the company and support!

Bought some body fat measuring scales yesterday and my body fat percentage is almost 39% which I don't think is good somehow.

O.T. finished so taking dc's to McDonalds as a treat . After I will nip next door to the gym for a swim.

Don't say the second day thing! I have to do the programme again tomorrow!

Getting sensible eating / exercise into the routine is difficult. I found the first week or so I craved rubbish big style but that did pass; think my body was struggling without all the unrefined sugar!

Romy7 · 13/10/2008 12:22

where are you all?

not lost this week but not worried.
ds has the pox and am waiting with baited breath for dd2 to get it - in which case i'll disappear under a mountain of tea and chocolate until it's all over as she is hideous when she's poorly.

having an edifying morning attempting to persuade dh by e-mail/ text that he really needs to do some of the pox-watching for me as i do have to go to work occasionally, and have Other Things to be going along with...

hope you are all feeling skinny...

bling, you got those scales yet?

mewerewolvesarehowling · 13/10/2008 12:28

Hello, I've been really crap haven't I? I've kind of lost momentum a bit. I weighed myself this morning and I'm back up to an unforgivable weight (for me).

So I'm drawing a line

------------

And starting again from today.

Ok - 12st 10 as of this morning

Was thinking it might be an idea to start a new thread to try and rally everyone round and maybe attract some new posters?

(it's medogs btw, cunningly disguised for halloween)

Romy7 · 13/10/2008 12:33

oh hello! glad you owned up at the end, i'm thinking 'me werewolves...'?

i'll follow if you start - i think there's only 4 of us left here? surprise didn't ever appear again, did she?

how are ya otherwise?

Romy7 · 13/10/2008 12:34

oh, 6 altogether i think? can't remember if i counted me...

Romy7 · 13/10/2008 12:35

we'll see who posts today and if fresh blood is needed... (how's that for a hallowe'en gag...)

MABS · 13/10/2008 16:26

so sorry i've been crap, am going on hols later this wk, back 1 Nov so will DEFO be back on this after that. Will need to, going to the States.

tibni · 13/10/2008 20:23

Hello!

Well I stayed the same weight which is ok as I am at target now. Have managed 3 muscle ripping sessions at the gym this week and the intense cardio is getting easier (ie I no longer feel like i'm going to be sick and in horrific pain but it still hurts!)

Still having huge problems with school. Had ds off from Wednesday last week - was told he had been sick but there is more to it that that. Today as I arrived for collection time he ran across the playground into school with TA strolling after him. This is a direct violation of the duty of care on his risk assessment for when the external gates are open. Far more going on concerning his support so I'm going to ask for a meeting.

I'm unsure if I need to adapt my weight target further. Friends say probably not. I'm 5 8 and 10 stone, that is exact mid BMI. I am fitting a size 10. I started at 11 8 and was too ashamed ever to admit this on the thread (only ever posted loss not weight.) I think I will work to maintain and tone - trainer says I may gain as my muscle becomes dense.

Romy, yuk the pox! Everything crossed dd2 doesn't get it. I have a double box of emergency jaffa cakes!

Mewere - will have a look and see if theres a new thread and tag along if there is. It would have taken be an age to work out who you were too! I used to have a brain!

Mabs - have a great holiday and look forward to seeing you when you return

mewerewolvesarehowling · 14/10/2008 08:23

Wow tibni, you've lost such a lot - what an achievement. That could make me feel quite ashamed of my own shoddy efforts but instead I'm going to let it inspire me.

MABS, hope you have a lovely holiday. see you when you get back.

Well, I had a good day yesterday - ate sensibly and also did my new dance exercise DVD. It's quite good fun but I feel a bit silly body popping round the living room.

I definitely need to up the exercise I think - I'm thinking about joining the gym when I've got a bit more cash, and I'm also starting swimming and badminton. There's no stopping me now, I hope!

tibni · 14/10/2008 10:14

Ahhh! Last night my dd started being sick! Not stopped yet! Gym plans for today cancelled!

She is having a soak in the bath and will snuggling up in my bed with tv today.

BlingLovin · 14/10/2008 13:49

Hello...

I haven't bought scales yet.

I know, I know, pathetic. But I work for a bank... my life is not a good place. My boss got fired ("took some time off to be with her family") last week and it's all been a bit manic around here. Am not gaining but haven't lost either - I can tell by my clothes. Am being good this week so far though and am about to go off to gym now for a quick swim. it's not as good as an hour cardio at the gym, but the truth is that I don't have time for that so I'm downscaling my expectations. But I went swimming yesterday too so at least if I can do it a good 4 times a week, I'm hoping that will help.

I id have a chocolate after supper last night though - was craving sweet! Don't know why. DP was hilarious - he saw the panic on my face when I realised he'd eaten the last of the chocolate and rushed out to get me some. Which I knwo is bad, but so sweet!

BlingLovin · 14/10/2008 16:28

if we get a new thread, can someone post a link here? I'll miss it otherwise.

mewerewolvesarehowling · 15/10/2008 13:54

Aww tibni, hope dd feels better soon!

bling - sorry work is all stressful at the moment, are you worried about your job too? God it must be really scary working in a bank at the mo. And one chocolate? Unless it was one of those massive bars of dairy milk or similar I don't think it'll be much of a problem, I let you off.

Ok, I've eaten well today - fruit for breakfast, sandwich and cereal bar for lunch. No snacks, plenty of water. Risotto for tea again. Yum..

mewerewolvesarehowling · 20/10/2008 08:00

Lost 2lb since last week. I really hope I can keep it going this time..

BlingLovin · 20/10/2008 12:24

According to my old scale, I have in fact lost another pound. Which is good. I had an okay week last week all in. Notwithstanding work being hell (and yes mewolves, I do worry about my job a bit. Which is a huge problem as I'm the main breadwinner).

I am back on the wagon again this week and feeling good. Looked at pictures of me at our engagement party and was horrifed. I cannot be that fat when we get married. or ever again.

tibni · 20/10/2008 16:29

Hi all,

Well done BlingLovin and mewerewolves on your weight loss.

Blinglovin I really hope things settle at work. My dh is on a temp contract and I understand how the uncertainty impacts on your life.

My mate borrowed my posh digital scales to weigh her holiday luggage on and they have come back broken. I weighed myself at the gym on their precision scales and think I have lost about a pound.

Before my holiday I had to buy a pair of size 14 trousers today I bought some size 8 jeans (they do have some stretch in them) Yesterday my attentive mother said "I think you may have lost some weight" and thats only because my sister has been telling her for weeks!

BloodyStranglingwithBling · 20/10/2008 16:30

Tibni. I am in awe. That's all I can say.

[in awe emoticon. with a hallowean face on it]

BloodyStranglingwithBling · 24/10/2008 12:37

Where is everyone?

Am feeling good. Have had an excellent food week, notwithstandingi horrible work week. not so good on exercise. But... when I look down, I see my breasts, not my tummy. This is a huge step forward. Wore my tighest work trousers yesterday and ended the day with no red marks on my stomach.

It's my birthday this weekend though so it might not continue as good. But... whatever!

tibni · 24/10/2008 15:16

Well done Bling!

Very difficult week here. Spent half the week in with school and governors. Think I may now be on the stress / school detox diet

Not bought new scales yet so will have to use the ones at the gym. My fitness level is better than it has been for years and my male ex commando army training partner is keeping his distance as I now work out at higher cardio levels than him! (he lifts harder weights than me) So physically I am feeling good.

Half term will be a challenge - time for gym and baking temptations.

Romy7 · 25/10/2008 08:00

an 8, an 8?

i put 2 lbs on and went into hiding, but have been trying hard this week so keeping my fingers crossed for monday... dh is away again, which makes life easier as no man-sized portions to deal with, and no-one to laugh at me slathering away in front of davina.

bling, i love your halloween name
and great news on the trousers front! i confess that my jeans are a little snug this week, but half of that will be af looming i think...

tibni - lol at you scaring the pt - you need to beast us around a bit i think

Romy7 · 25/10/2008 08:02

oh, medogs, i missed yours! well done! short and sweet, everything ok-ish?

nannyogg · 27/10/2008 08:45

Everything's fine Romy, just mad busy. Builders have just finished our extension and been painting etc etc..

Ok, so - 1lb back on this week. Feckity feck.

I'm joining the gym today.

Good luck everyone else!

nannyogg · 27/10/2008 08:46

ooops, forgot my name change. It's medogs....This is my halloween name - but I'm going to stick with it I think..

BloodyStranglingwithBling · 27/10/2008 09:23

I weighed myself this morning (yes yes, still on my dodgy scales) and I seem to have stayed the same. Which, post birthday weekend, I'm quite pleased with. Also did not go to gym even once last week so all round, okay.

This week I am back on the food wagon - dp is trying too which helps - and I'll try slip in a couple of swimming or davina sessions. We do have a lot on which is stressing me out a bit, but am hoping to work around it. my ex-boss is in town and wants to have an indian so DP and I are researching low fat versions - I assume anything cooked in the tandoori oven is low fat?

tibni · 27/10/2008 11:05

Scales still broken so will weigh at gym tonight and report in - expect same or slight gain as I have had no focus this week.

DS school placement in big trouble - been to chair of govs - because school not willing to support him properly in afternoons. I am trying to write a letter to LEA, this takes much concentration and chocolate!

Bling - the same after birthday weekend is great. No curry expert but I guess stay away from rich sauces. But, its not an everyday event so have something that you will enjoy.

Nannyogg - enjoy the gym, you will gain satisfaction when you see your fitness improve.
