Slim and the gym

I have started a new regime at the gym today and am being weighed once a wekk there as well.

I thought I would come in here and support my efforts by asking anyone if they want to encourage/join/chat with me about it.

Any other gym addicts out there?

Hi Linny - the one I go to sounds very similar - like this ? I'm afraid an hour at a time, including travelling and changing is about the most I can ever fit in, so the format of this does, just about, work for me.

Yoyo, I think you should ask them to reassess you. I found getting a new programme pretty inspiring otherwise you just do similar things and certainly it can get boring. I was even reading a book on some machines! I cant now as I am wroking to hard to concentrate on anything other than my ipod.

LinnyNollaig, yes I can do all the exercise in the world but if I dont diet as well I lose nothing although I do change shape a bit! I have a lot to lose though LOL

Went again this morning and whilst there decided to get reassessed as I want to programme the machines. Quite good today although I must confess that I do read on the bike and treadmill (not fortunate enough to own an Ipod)! I was reading about low GI eating so not too bad.

I am aiming to run on the treadmill instead of walking (gulp) - start off 2 min walking, 1 min running, etc and gradually increase the running. There was a very fit lady who was quite a bit older than me who was pounding away and putting me to shame. She didn't even break into a sweat and she ran for 30 mins!!

Well suffering from a cold I went to the gym today but opted for the pool rather than a heavy cardiovascular workout (don't feel up to that - too snotty and coughy). Did 30 lengths which was okay and finished off in the jacuzzi.

Got chatted up in the latter and [amazement emoticon] - which is astonishing because I don't look great in my swimming costume. Perhaps the bloke thought I looked more 'accessible' than the super toned babes that were there in their bikinis

hi lunarsea, yeah sounds exactly the same, so how long have you been going and do you find it good?
do you diet aswell as work out?

glitter fairy.. what kind of diet do you follow?
im trying to do the weight watchers point counting diet, but not weighing in or anything as i dont have the time to do both gym and weigh ins so im trying to do it myself, and weigh myself once a week..

linnyNollaig · 17/02/2005 22:34

how bad handlemecarefully eh!! gettin chatted up by the pool.. pullin power or what!!
hey ya musta been lookin mighty fine then..
thats a boost is it not?
would be for me anyhow!!

handlemecarefully · 17/02/2005 22:49

Linny,

I think the bloke though that I looked so crappy that I would be grateful for any kind of attention and therefore I would be an easy score!
