I think I need a prescriptive diet - but one that's family friendly?

Whenever I use the freer, vaguer diets like GI/GL (which I do think are very good), or ones that use fancy ingredients, I either slide into bad habits or give up due to incompatibility with small kids.

I think right now I need something with very specific menus, including weights, portion sizes etc. But the recipes need to be simple and practical, with plenty of quick and convenient options.

Any good books I should try? I may return to Easy GI if I can't think of anything else, but it's a bit limited and anyway I find something new is always a better motivator
