gingernutlover · 29/07/2008 21:14

lost 3 stone last year with cambridge, made the mistake of coming off it before goal and never got there

i maganed to get to 11 stone, 7lbs above target which i thought was ok and i wasnt too bothered about reaching a the healthy weight as my bmi was 26 ish.

However, aweeks of stress at work and tiredness from toddler means i have been comfort eating/over eating again! and i am now 11,10 on my scales.

This really scares me as i dont want to be 12 stone ever again

i know i need to contorl this long term but what can i do short termt o boost my confidence/fit into my summer clohtes

i have done ww points, cabbage soup etc etc and always seem to self sabotage within a week

need a kick up the bum and sensible plan i can stick to, not necessarily counting calories or cutting out certain foods eg bread, altho can see it ay be a good idea to cut out chcolate crisp etc

I am struggling today as the kids would like chicken enchiladas for tea. I know that two of these amount to 12pts, so am trying my best to save enough points so I can eat them too. So far had toast for brekky (3.5pts) and ham sandwich on WW bread, snack a jacks and an apple for lunch (3.5pts). I now only have 1pt which I like to keep for a yoghurt for dessert tonight. Wouldn't be too bad if I could manage until tea, but it is only 3pm and I have been doing housework all afternoon and I am HUNGRY!!

gingernutlover · 04/08/2008 15:49

can you have the yoghurt now or a couple of rich tea bickies?

then have sugar fee jelly for pud later?

or if not have some carrot sticks/cucmuber/tomatoes for a snack with a cuppa?

Thanks gingernut - As suggested had some cucumber, tomatoes and celery sticks, but then relented and had two rice cakes. Unfortunately have now gone over my allowance for today so must do some exercise this evening to make up for what I have eaten. Hope you had a good day at the park.

A pound is a pound - they say that this is a healthy weekly loss so well done you. You should be proud especially as it is time of the month. I know that I gain during this time and you will probably find (if you are like me) that next week you may lose more. Keep up the fantastic work. I haven't weighed in yet as I would be cheating if I did this morning, as I normally weigh in the evening at WW. Will let you know how I get on later. Keep plodding on - we can and will get there together.

Fimbles5 · 07/08/2008 21:31

Hi Gingernut - Yeeha!! I lost 3lbs (thats the good news), the bad news is that I have been home from my meeting for an hour and have eaten ever since. Never mind eh new day tomorrow. Good luck for the forthcoming new week.

gingernutlover · 07/08/2008 21:49

thats fantastic fimbles

like you say tomorrow is another day, here's to another good week

wuzzlefraggle · 08/08/2008 20:46

ooo, oooo, oooo, can I join???

I seriously need to buckle down and loose some weight (around a stone and a half in all), always thinking to myself "right, today I'll start dieting" but it never seems to happen.

So I thought that joining a group like this would help motivate me

When is the weigh in day peeps?

Fimbles5 · 08/08/2008 22:03

Welcome wuzzle - We have been weighing in on Thursdays but I don't think it really matters. The point is that we support and inspire each other. Good luck.

wuzzlefraggle · 09/08/2008 09:29

Thanks for the welcome Fimbles

I'll join in with you then and do my weigh in on a Thursday too.

Well, so far today I've been good lol. grapes and strawberries for breakfast.

How much exercise do you tend to do?

Fimbles5 · 09/08/2008 11:41

I'm afraid I am a bit of a disaster when it comes to exercise and need to do more. At the moment I am trying to fit in about 30 minutes every other evening, but doesn't always work out that way. I am following weightwatchers working with points. What about you? Are you following a diet or just eating healthily and exercising more? Well done on the healthy brekky - Keep up the good work (weekends are always the hardest for me?)

wuzzlefraggle · 09/08/2008 16:58

Well, I'm trying to eat healthier and do more exercise. Trying being the word lol.

I feel a bit guilty. Had my healthy breakfast, but then dh decided to take me and DD for a spur of the moment meal and I had lasagne (not a huge one or anything, but still) and some crumble for afters

Does doing the food shopping count as exercise? lol.

Will get my arse in gear and do half hour of my pump it up dvd shortly to make up for the meal lol. What type of exercise do you like to do?

moshie · 09/08/2008 17:09

I've lost 8lb in the last 3 weeks just by healthy eating, breakfast, lunch and dinner, no snacks. I put ice in my wine so that's really only half a glass at a time. And mini-milks make a great pudding because they're only 30 cals each!

gingernutlover · 09/08/2008 19:17

thats impressive moshie, welcome to the thread wuzzlefraggle

i'm still doing okay, not 100% perfect but maybe that makes it more doable, I have got a stepper and am still doing 10 mins a day, planning to step it up to 15 mins a day (half of corrie lol) but am feeling healthier

OP posts:
wuzzlefraggle · 10/08/2008 10:15

Moshie, thats really great! Good idea about the mini milks too And I'm liking the wine tip too

Thanks gingernutlover Hey, I may steal your stepper idea (mine is just sat in the corner gathering dust at present lol. It's one of those twister steppers thats the peddle bit and two resistance bands for the arms, no bars so it's portable, is that the one you have?) Though I think it will be half of eastenders for me lol

Well today I've stuck to my healthy breakfast again

gingernutlover · 10/08/2008 19:27

hiya

yes sounds like the same stepper, birlliant, i can burn about 120 calories in half a soap which i figure has to go towards losing a bit

i go on holidy on thursday so officially have 4 days to get to less than 11,7

wish me luck

have eaten too many biscuits today and feel sick, my body is trying to tell me to eat less crap

think i will have a jacket pot with beans for dinner and thats it

OP posts:
Fimbles5 · 10/08/2008 20:13

gingernut - You sound so much like me I think I have found my twin. I am feeling like crap at the moment (stinking headache) and I honestly believe it is as a result of eating too many biscuits and cakes this afternoon. I am afraid I have gone into binge mode once again I am also on holiday on Thursday and desperately wanted to shed a few pounds - now look at me!!

wuzzlefraggle · 10/08/2008 22:46

hey, don't be too hard of yourselves for having a bit of a snack fest - dieting is bloody hard! Tomorrow is a fresh new day.

Ooo, you're both off on hols Thursday? Will you come back to the thread when you get home? (i'll be all on my lonesome! lol)

I'm fairly proud of myself today. When ever i've felt like eating choc (or a slice of dh's mouth watering pizza), i've just grabbed a plum and hand full of grapes. Normally I'm terrible for snacking on whatever high calorie junk is going! I'm finding lollies are helping too. Bog all in them but they make you feel like your eating lol

wuzzlefraggle · 10/08/2008 22:46

as in ice lollies

Fimbles5 · 11/08/2008 09:31

Thanks wuzzle - It is bloody hard isn't it (nicely put!!). For me it is a constant battle and a vicious circle. I am not massively overweight but I don't feel happy with the way I look, so it is really difficult as people are forever telling me I don't need to lose. That is why I find it really good to chat on here, as nobody can see me so they cannot judge (if you know what I mean). We can just support each other and hopefully together will learn to feel better about ourselves and happier with the way we look.

wuzzlefraggle · 11/08/2008 10:52

Fimbles - that is exactly how it is with me too! I'm not massively over weight but just not happy with how I look - I'm starting to get a bit podgy but want to stop it before it goes too far, and reverse it lol. I know what u mean about it being a constant battle too - it's so difficult

At the mo I am 10 stone 6 and am 5ft7. I know that I need to be more like 9 stone to be happy with my shape.

wuzzlefraggle · 11/08/2008 10:59

oh, and today will be testing. DH on his way to work asked if I could make some of my home made cookies :/ Must be strong! lol

Fimbles5 · 11/08/2008 20:44

Wuzzle - How did your day go?? Did you manage to resist the cookie temptation??
