Always good o have motivation for something, we are going on holiday at the end of November and would like to be pre preg weight for that which is 16 stone. I can do it.

PinkChick · 05/08/2008 09:29

def good to have a goal, although with me i HAD to do it otherwise i would be in same state as my mam health wise in few years..we went to cyprus last year, i was hitting 17st..all my friends(who also went) were big so i didnt feel out of place, but dp said wouldnt i have liked to be the 'one' out of palce?, my friends being big is not excuse for me not to do anything is it, and ive comforted myself with that for years, so now am really doing somethinga bout it and i cant quite believe it..although my friends now seema a bit cos im losing the weight

Morning all, I know exactly what you mean about havihg larger friends Pink, my best friend and my sister are all around the same weight as me, so I never feel self consious when I'm around them. Best friend is starting lighter life now and sister is pregnant so feel its time for me to do something. I am the odd one out thought at ds school, all my mum friends are really slim, so do feel out of place there - have told a couple about my diet, they are both really trying to support me.

I would love to be a size 16 at the moment, that would be incredible. But a size 12 - that is a pipe dream for me - I can never imagine it happening, but will do my best. And I've never been a size 8

Really weird about these tablets, had no dinner last night and am not even hungry this morning. Dropping DS off to a summer club in a min so wil make something when I get back. Its scary to think that I could stop eating all together.

Welcome Five

RGPargy · 05/08/2008 10:35

Morning everyone!

Big house points for Pink and the fruit munching. Well done and keep it up.

Welcome Five! Congrats on your baby!!! What did you have? weight? natural or CS? come on?!! spill the beans!!! Good luck with the GI, hope it works for you.

I dunno, all this talk of reductil, i'm starting to get tempted!! Not sure if it's because i'm feeling quite down at the moment or whether i am genuinely interested lol. I think my main problem is booze. it's really hard to get out of the habit of having a drink after dinner and after DD is in bed etc.

Peeing down with rain here today. Was going to go to Bounce & Rhyme at the library but DD hasn't woken from her morning nap yet. I'm going to sit down with her and watch the Sing and Sign DVD instead all cozied up indoors.

PinkChick · 05/08/2008 10:51

HI every one...can i just erase my thread this morn???..ive been pottering aroun after bath and hair wash and forgot to have brekky so poured some cereal out..but then, thought on about me getting weighed this morn and i had just washed my hair!..hmm...me thinks..so befor cereal i hop abck upstairs with now dry hair to bathroom....i have now been weighed !) times to make sure , but i have in fact lost 5LB this week.............meaning i have actually lost 2stone 1 lb...kept hopping back on as my scales do waver, but no 14st 10lb every time....C@MON!!..

as you were!..

Claire, it is weird the not feling hungry, but you DO have to eat, this is were people go wrong, your body will start burning muscle instead of fat and instead hold onto that, so when you do eat again you can see it straight away..there are dogdy tabs going around that Do make yous top eating, but these are very dangerous(cousins on them)..so just try little bits even if you just want fruit for first few days then incorporate protien and carbs as you wish

RG, what do you have to lsoe again?, you 'could' see you doc about tabs, i think your mbi has to over 35? and no probs with blood pressure..theyre not best for everyone tho, mym mum and a mum at school have had them and not felt any diff there for not lsoing anything?..maybe me and claire are just gullable

off to park now, was just me and dd, but she wants to bring a friend so collecting then off out to meet others..see you all alter.x

Well done Pink- 14 st 10lb thats fantatsic

I'm not sure what it is with these tablets, I was thinking about it last night.

I think I am so desperate to lose weight and have tried and failed so many times because I either start to comfort eat, or I'm so hungry waiting for my next meal that I snack too often.

Don't know whether its mind over matter - but I genuinely am not hungry. This morning I had a bowl of cereal with ss milk - normally this would never fill me up and I would want toast pretty soon after. I am feeling fine now. Not full up - just not hungry. I am picking ds up at 1pm then will make lunch, I will make a sandwich probably.

I don't know how to explain it - but normally I am always hungry. Because I want to lose weight soooooooo much I really am giving it my best shot this time and have completely lost the urge to eat a lot, which is giving me the confidence to think that this is going to work this time - I hope I'm right!

KelaH · 05/08/2008 13:34

Pink - that's amazing!!!!

I went to the docs this morning as I have been feeling a bit shaky, and she thinks that with my weight loss, I might have an underactive (or overactive, can't remember which!) thryoid, so might not lose so much if it is and I get treatment

Ags · 05/08/2008 15:30

Wow, this thread has been seriously filling up since I last posted. It has taken me an age to catch up!

So, firstly, Welcome to Claire, Chirpy and Five! It is fantastic to have new people to refresh us! Good luck with your journey ladies. We are all at different stages but we seem to be able to help each other.

Kela! 51 lbs! Fantastic. Well done.

Jaz! Size 14! Not jealous at all (much!)!!! Well done you skinnymalinx!

RG! Half is a half so well done. It is half a tin of beans. It weighs a lot!
And you are dealing with a lot of changes to your routines at the moment so go easy on yourself love!

Pink! You do make me laugh! 175 house points to you and promotion to prefect! You are doing great. 14 stone 10 is amazing and your dress sounds gorgeous. I love Monsoon.

I had my weigh in today and lost 2lbs. So I have not lost 76.5 lbs in total, a half away from 5.5 stones. I am thrilled. I updated the list and added Kela and Pink's total weight lost but didn't fill in the weekly loss.

Ags -2 lbs -76.5 lbs
BananaKnickers -4.5lbs -4.5lbs
Chewing20times -5lbs -21lbs
Kelas -?lbs -51 lbs
Jaz236 -14lbs!!!!!
Sandramaryb - 7lbs - 14lbs
Michie40 -? -7lbs
Sussies -2lbs -2lbs
RGPargy -0.5lb -17lbs
Chocolatespiders - 2.0lbs- 5.0lbs
Ria 00 00
SummatAndNowt -3lbs -3lbs
ChipButty -1.4lbs -9.2lbs
PinkChick -?lbs - 29lbs
Aero - 3lbs - 20.5lbs

Ags · 05/08/2008 15:32

When I said 'I have not lost 76.5 lbs in total', of course I meant I HAVE lost 76.5 lbs in total! God, what a dreadful mistake to make.

paranoidmother · 05/08/2008 16:03

Oh can I join?

Ags · 05/08/2008 16:06

Of course you can! Welcome. Tell us a bit about yourself and what kind of diet plan you are going to follow/are following.

paranoidmother · 05/08/2008 16:07

I meant to add a bit more it it that that. I went to the doctors as I need to have an injection and noticed on the screen that I need to lose about 60kg so about 132lb if possble. I've managed to lose 3 kg so far but need to pick it up a pace.

After 2 kids i didn't think about the weight side of it and kept ignoring it.

I thought i'd add in more exercise and hope that would make me feel better each day. Have already cut out crisps, sweets and fizzy drinks. Have the occasional piece of chocolate and cake/biscuit but try not to. Everytime I deprive myself I find I crave it more.

Thanks

KelaH · 05/08/2008 16:40

Hi paranoidmother, welcome! I find the secret with cakes etc is not to totally cut them out - give yourself a treat every so often without feeling guilty (as long as it fits into whatever diet plan you are doing), and really congratulate yourself when you do resist - make yourself feel virtuous rather than deprived.

Ags - that weightloss is amazing - how many dress sizes have you gone down?

PinkChick · 05/08/2008 16:58

Woohoo Ags, thats bloody amaising!..well done!..>>>

ohh i dream of what it would be like to lose over 5 stone..LOl at "i have NOT lost xxx"..i always type NOT for Now..come to think of it most of my typing is pa&ts An2%wa(

Hiya Claire, you sound Soooooooooo much like me 8 weeks ago, i tussled about wether it was mind over matter, rfused to believe i could have lost anything, it was so hard to get into routine of stopping eating when full, but i found(and you may too, soon)that if i was full but still continued i actually hurt!, my stomache felt painful..and that how i finally managed to stop

Hi KelaH and thanks..hope you get sorted at docs.an underactive thyroid means you struggle to lose and over active means you lose weight quickly (i think?)either way they will give you tabs and if its preventing you from lsoing, the tabs will sort that out..so you could be running against the wind, but tabs will sort you out?..hope so?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 05/08/2008 17:18

Ags an ispiration for all on thread.

Pink well done many congratulations.

RGPargy - boy, Sebastian, was 8.5 now a hefty 11.1 at last weigh in at 6 weeks, elective section as had emergency with his big sis, Edith 2.5.

Liking the GI, just done my breakfast stewed fruit to have with yoghurt/cottage cheese.

KelaH · 05/08/2008 17:46

Yeah, sorry pink, it is overactive, I got my overs and unders confused . That's probably why I am losing so much weight - di you think I could convince them not to treat it for a few months?

jaz236 · 05/08/2008 18:28

Ags im only tiny so any weight i put on really shows - and oh bloody bugger i went to fatfighters and ive put on 2lbs, i dont understand as my clothes are now fittting me, my old clothes that is before i was pregnant!

And ive been on the treadmil everynite, my leader says that my fats turning to muscle and im toning up - so thast good, and in a few weeks the pounds will drop off!! hers hoping fingers crossed!

PinkChick · 05/08/2008 20:28

Thanks 5

KelaH..so sorry did i sound like i was correcting you there?? i wasnt i was just trying to explain which was which..'if' it is diagnosed as overactive the tablets wont stop you losing weight but obv it will be more down to you..i dont know the ins and out of thyroids, but i assume it DOES need to be treated, shame though i always joked i wish i had over active thyroid, but never knew the consequences??

Jaz, dont worry too much chick, if you have been excersizing a lot, you will be toning hence your clothes fitting better and you are still losing despite this blip, so dont be hard on yourself..you have been doing really well and excersize is as important as the food, i know now im going to HAVE to do something soon as i can feel my skin becoming softer and will soon be saggier..so am going to dust off my fitness vid and find out when aqua aerobics is on.
Do what you do this week and im sure you will see difference next week

today has been fab, am quite proud..had my cereal for brekky, lunch i made sarnies and had them (ham, tom and cucumber)..dd and her friend had sarnies and chips between them plus an icecream and some sweeties later on an not one morsel passed, nor did i want it to pass my lips
for tea, id bought what i though was two lean gammon steak..but there was just one!..so not being a big meat eater anyway, i cooked that for dp and for myself i cooked a small jacket and added a dollop of low fat phili instead of butter/chedder, then i had one small corn on cob with it, some cherry toms, bit of lettuce and cucumber and i was stuffed!..as id made berry crumble for dp and dd i put a big dollop of low fat custard out with a sliced banana in for myself and it was lovely...so overall, am very stuffed and pleased with my food today

walked all over as well, feet are aching and i even had my wonderful comfy crocs on so must have walked some distance around and around that park!

RGPargy · 05/08/2008 20:32

Paranoid - Welcome!! The more the merrier in here!

Pink - i have at least 6 stone to lose i reckon, probably healthier to lose 7ish. Quite gutting really considering i once weighed 10.7stone after losing 7.7stone about 15 years ago and now i've put in ALL back on, PLUS MORE!!! Stupid stupid stupid RGP!!! i get so angry with myself sometimes. Me and my fat greedy gob!!

Five - awww lovely!! I'm so broody at the moment and my DD is only 8 months old!!! Hope the CS wasn't too hard on you - dont forget you still need to take it pretty easy.

Jaz - if you've been on the treadmills every night then your gain is almost DEFFO muscle gain. At the end of the day tho, it's how you FEEL and how your clothes fit you that counts isn't it so although you've put on 2lbs, you've obviously toned up in other areas as your clothes are showing that. keep at it!

PinkChick · 05/08/2008 20:35

i know it was always in thread title but its weird to meet lots of other girls who also need to lose same/similar amount of weight as me, really encouraging TBH..although i have to say, this part-losing the weight- is hard enough, i cant imagine the toture of putting it back on, ive always been fat, been less fat but always fat, never bene slim, so i think i WILL find it hard, once off to keep it off
so dont knock yourself it must be one of the hardest things to do!

OP posts:
RGPargy · 05/08/2008 20:37

Yeah it was hard, but very easy to put it back on, due to various events in my life which meant i comfort ate, boredom ate, ate takeaways etc etc etc. I suppose what's done is done but nevertheless, FFS @ me!!!

PinkChick · 05/08/2008 20:39

www.hbacupuncture.com/images/weightloss-side.jpg this lady has lost 54lb...look at the difference!!..im trying to see what kind off losses look like
