the evils of drink RG
I keep thinking about cutting down. I just might too. Once I get back on plan tomorrow I will have to so I can still have some supper before bed. Plan - buy a slightly better nasty cheap wine and drink 1-2 glasses at most, rather than buying the cheapest and drinking it all. DH will agree cos it will mean he gets red.
I sent him to the chippy today for a fish pattie. yum. but I've had it now and craving cured. pork chop with onion rings tonight, then I will be a good girl.
Just had my first OU phone tutorial, so that's another stres-hurdle over too
Nasty weather inhibiting my pram-walking though.

RGPargy · 10/11/2008 16:08

Let's keep off the booze together, Ria. That way we can encourage nag each other if we fall off the weekday wagon!

This weather is enough to test the patience of a dieting nun i reckon. To me this weather screams out "Stodgy food and wine in front of the tv!!"

I have been very DomGod again today. DD has been asleep for the past hour and i have knocked up a dozen cheese scones (ooooo soooo yummy!) and a dozen fairy cakes & six muffins. I say "muffins" but what i actually mean is "large fairy cakes in a muffin case because i've run out large baking trays and cant be arsed to fill up cake cases all afternoon".

jaz236 · 10/11/2008 20:25

Instead of getting cheap nasty wine, u should opt for a nice expensive wine and the hit after one glass is quicker than cheap wine as thats why u have to drink nearly 2 bottles to be drunk! nice 8.00 bottle will do and u will be tipsy after just one or two!!

just had pineapple and going eat some clementines and thats me for the evening!

3 stone hey well done!!

PinkChick · 10/11/2008 21:25

Hi Gals...good going with the fruit Jaz..well ahve been angelic today..had special k for brek, pasta for lunch and my own spag bol for dinner..have some left over so have put it in container for tomorrow and then i wont have to 'pick' i can just warm up and away.
just going through all my photo's now trying to back up and there all of dd from about 2yr old (computer crashed before that/plus used 35 mm camera)..theyre so sweet i just want to go and cuddle her as i 'missed' a lot of that time as i had really bad PND and dnot remember a lot of it..but so glad ive still got these.

night all, see you tomorrow.x

OP posts:
educatingRia · 10/11/2008 22:22

that's a lovely reminder pink. I had bad PND with DS1, when I was PG with DS2 the MW didn't belileve me that I couldn't remember stuff.. And even with out PND it's easy to forget how cute and chubby (and not boldhy) they used to be - or maybe that's just my little sods boys.

£8.00 a bottle. Bloody hell, that's xmas lunch wine in our house. I was with you on the thinking that more expensive = stronger so need less, but my expensive is a little cheaper

back to it tomorrow, honest

educatingRia · 10/11/2008 22:23

sod my typing

educatingRia · 11/11/2008 11:37

feels good to be back on track today. feeling really rough, skin greasy etc, so am looking forward to eating better.
was going to make carrot and lentil soup for lunch but can't find the darned recipe and haven't been able to get on SW website as have been sorting DS1s homework and now have to take it through to school for him. Will have to NOT park near bakery when I go to the post office

jaz236 · 11/11/2008 13:39

ooooooooooooooooooooow ria how could u eat rabbit stew and not think of watership down - i had roas pork the other day and couldnt stop think abt babe - so i gave it to hubbie in the end! although i eat chicken and havent watched chicken run lol!!

i used to drink alot of wine in my yooth but now not that bothered with it really! as i have to be up in the night with bambino!

carrots contain retin a - which is what the beauty industry harp on abt for boosting the skin, so carrots are great to eat!! think ill be having just fruit for my dinner tnite as ive been bad again and only 6 weeks to bloody xmas, i should have eaten sensibly at the beginning of the year!! when will it end!! i think i may have to go adn do that bloody lipoband!! its alwasy advertised on tv

PinkChick · 11/11/2008 13:44

well i went to boots yesterday and checked al the diet pills and thought NO i cant do it as it costs so much money! so tday ive been up since bloody 3.30am then 5 because of little one and ive made a batch of no points soup! i will be drinking this and lots of water!! I need to change my ways quickly!!

PinkChick · 12/11/2008 09:47

good on yer Jaz, you sound like somethings 'clicked' and it takes that to be able to get into it!..hope you have a fantastic day!

i was facying some pate on toast this morning, but i KNOW it doesnt fill me up and that i would want cereal as soon as i got back from school run, so i told myself no (as well as it being full of fat anyway!), even went and bough some chocs for mindees dad who's been in hospital came home and poured some shreddies out...small steps..oh and havent had choc again now for 3 days..so am hoping the scales will be very nice to me on tues when i go see nurse[smlie].

have a fab day all.xxx

RGPargy · 12/11/2008 11:44

Jaz - dont go for the reductil if you're worried about the side effects. They made me feel all weird so i didn't take them after day 3!

I am going to make some no point soup at some point so that i can just slurp away to my heart's content and not worry about it!

educatingRia · 12/11/2008 12:59

yum, just had left-over cous cous and morrocan spiced squash, onions and spinach for lunch. I hope it keeps me full though as DS1 at tennis til 6 tonight (it's a short term so I can afford it[) Low syn pasta bake for tea. and maybe a slice of garlic bread. I love day 1 water loss - I've lost the 2lb that was "extra"

feel good for only having had 1 glass of wine last night too (it's all I had left)

no points soup sounds good, but don't cut back too much jaz or you'll feel deprived and end up on a binge (or that's what I do anyway)

RGPargy · 12/11/2008 14:30

AAAAGGGHHHH!!!! i'm having real trouble trying to find a not-so-little black dress! I have an office departmental dinner and the office xmas party to go to, plus i'm going out with the girls at the end of jan so will need a dress/outfit type thing that will suit all three occasions. I'm thinking that for the dinner i could get away with just trousers and a smart/dressy top. I haven't worn a dress or skirt tho for about erm...... 8 years. The last time i can remember wearing a dress is NYE 1999/2000. I thought i might by a black dress and just put those thick black tights under it.

Thing is, i will need the following:

Dress
Top
Shoes
Thick black tights
Possibly new handbag as everyone knows you have to have one that matches your outfit ()
Jacket/coat (i only have a scruffy duffle-type coat at the moment!)

it's all going to cost ££££ and we dont really have it!! The sites i've looked on (Evans, Next, Littlewoods Direct) dont really offer that much choice and/or the sizes have run out.

Am i too late for buying an LBD?? It's depressing me even trying to look for clothes because i know that anything i put on will just make me look like a sack of spunds anyway! aagghhh!! what's the point?!!

jaz236 · 12/11/2008 15:33

RG warehouse do this fab dress type thing, its black and has these satin petals going around the collar have alook on their website - and if ur like me and dont liek showing your arms its great as it goes to your wrists -its gorgeous!

RGPargy · 12/11/2008 16:52

Didn't think warehouse did big sizes jaz?!!

RGPargy · 12/11/2008 17:22

lol they only go up to a size 16 Jaz!!

educatingRia · 12/11/2008 17:24

there is a feature on LBDs in the SW mag. There's a nice one from New Look I think. will look later and tell you...

I buy all my stuff from Oxfam or similar. I'm the height of fashion

educatingRia · 12/11/2008 17:44

new look but the dress I liked in the mag isn't on that page. It's £22 sizes 16-26.

ASDA have a strapless cocktail/prom dress for £18 up to size 24, and an Audrey Hepburn type pencil dress with a sort of checked pattern for £18.

when did size 16 become a "larger size"??? That's my ultimate goal
