4 months post partum + weight loss

Looking for some honest help here!

For context: I am 4 months PP, but pre-pregnancy I was roughly 62kg and a very athletic size 8. I was running, playing netball, or in the gym most days of the week. I lifted heavy weights through my pregnancy until the day I was induced - but I still gained 25kg.

Today I sit at 71kg, and I’d like to get back to roughly 65kg. I’m back at the gym 4 days a week lifting heavy again and have been since 1 month PP. I hit a minimum of 12k steps a day.

The issue: my weight loss has halted. I’m not an idiot; I count my calories accurately (as I did pre-preg) and use a TDEE calculator to help, but I haven’t budged a gram in 2 weeks. I am desperately trying to get back to my pre weight, any ideas on what I can try next?

After my second i found it harder to lose. Im three years post and im still not where i want to be even though i train 5x a week and have a deficit. If i gain weight now it isnt shifting even though im doing all the right things. I just think our bodies are supposed to change after kids. Im also a qualified PT. Aged 35. It isnt easy at all.

id say limit your carbs to under 100g a day, more protein and not too much fat.

and log it on my fitness pal.
if you really want to cut, you need to look at what you eat. And replace certain foods or cut Out/limit.

Plus, after weight training you need to do cardio also. I aim for 30-45mins, of course this depends on what tine you have. High intensity is what gets results.

walking is great too. It isnt easy but if you have the willpower its doable.

Thank you, I’ll give the post-weights cardio a go, although I’m worried about burn out as I’m already doing two cardio sessions a week on top of the weights.

tbh I don’t know how to change my diet. I eat whole foods, aim for 120g protein a day and don’t eat much sugar at all. I used to have anorexia so I know my tracking is accurate from those days lol.

I’m sorry you’re feeling similarly :(
