⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits. Following on from 🌟LOSE IT!🌟Superfood September🌟

Goodness me, October already 😮! About 12 weekends of the year left!🎄

To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone after having been on the wrong side of 12stone.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Morning all! Haven't weighed myself today because there was an incident last night with some chocolate fudge and a bag of salted peanuts. We live and learn.

Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain · 15/10/2026 11:12

@SummerHolsFinished thanks. It's the tight clothes and the peri menopause puff that have forced me to take action. Fed up of how I look. @DreamingOfGeneHunt it's so easily done I've done it myself many times. Watching tv and the next thing you know the bag is empty.

Starting weight 12 stone 7lbs
Current weight 12 stone 6lbs

Happy with a pound of this week. Really need to work on less snacks this week.

Good luck everyone

10kstepsaday · 15/10/2026 18:58

Hello all....slinking back in if you'll have me? I think I have fallen off this thread about 10x 😂
I need to start again. Am the same weight I've been for like 6 years now and still unhappy with the reflection in the mirror.
Calorie counting is the only way I've ever lost weight so MFP re-downloaded. And the only time I've ever been happy with my weight is when I was doing Les mills classes and so have bitten the bullet and signed up to LMOD. Time to be accountable.

I weighed yesterday AM and am 10 st 8.0lbs.
Off to catch up on this thread so far!

GrannieInTheGarden · 16/10/2026 09:18

Trying to improve my movement and my food. I’ve been here before but got lazy and messed up my previous efforts. Priorities for now are moving more and planning meals ahead.

LemonDrizzle23 · 16/10/2026 19:13

How on earth is it the weekend again? I swear the period between the start of the new school year, and Christmas, is actually only about 5 minutes long 😂
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. My aim is for a walk and yoga both days. Maybe a sort out of the garage (side eyes DH and his million tools). Farmers market. All the good stuff!

10kstepsaday · 16/10/2026 19:51

First day done
I got up early and did 30 minute Body Attack class and I am finishing the day on 1553 calories. A good start 🥳

PipkinOfPepper · 17/10/2026 09:11

By some miracle have managed to STS since Monday despite a very poor week of eating - have been famished this week for no reason, very annoying. Seeing friends tonight so wine and a big dinner will definitely be had but going to try and rein it in for breakfast / lunch today and go for a big walk tomorrow and hope the damage isn’t too bad this coming Monday.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

GrannieInTheGarden · 17/10/2026 10:27

Three spells in the garden yesterday, tackling overgrown trees and bushes. Sensible meals. Today intend doing the same, plus kitchen tidy and getting fridge and freezer under control.

10kstepsaday · 17/10/2026 19:29

Higher calorie day today as I did indulge in a homemade flapjack whilst out visiting family. Proud that it didn't escalate further though and I am due on too so it is prime time for that to occurr!

1800 calories
30 mins of Body Pump completed ✅

Hope all having a lovely weekend! 🙂

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 18/10/2026 08:49

Morning! It's turned very cold here (South Yorkshire) and it's lovely and autumnal. Weight the same, I haven't been very strict at all this last few days because work is hectic and I can't be bothered, quite frankly.

Today's food will be:
Porridge, yoghurt, blackberry syrup
Lentil, pumpkin, carrot soup and wholemeal bread, an apple
Dinner is aubergine and tomato pasta with some chicken I found in the freezer and black eyed beans. A banana.

LemonDrizzle23 · 18/10/2026 08:58

@10kstepsaday I love homemade flapjack - shop bought bars are always disappointing. I have a flapjack recipe that involves an entire tin of condensed milk - I therefore never make it unless I’m feeding about 20 people 😂

The sun is out here today, although it’s chilly. Have realised it’s exactly 2 months til the Christmas holidays start, so feels like there’s still time to make some changes before the year ends!

Clearingaspace · 18/10/2026 09:13

Popping back on - week 1 I really couldn’t get in the mood for dieting and had lots of drinks at the weekend which bumped the scale badly. This week was a lot better, I have logged calories more consistently and mostly avoided the teenagers deserts and snacks in n the house. Did have a cinnamon bun yesterday, it was bought from a stall but very rustic and homemade and vegan so basically a health food 😉. Amazingly the scale was down again so am over 2lbs off - not completely sure how much as I was dressed this morning and had had a cup of coffee when I weighed.

hi @10kstepsaday and @Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain 👋

have a great Sunday all

ChunkyMonkey36 · 18/10/2026 13:16

14st 9.5lbs on today’s daily weigh.

I started at 16st 10lbs so that’s officially 2st (and 0.5lbs) off since April. 🎉🎉

My first target was 14st 7lbs, I think I’m going to move it (when I reach it 😂) to 14st, and do it in 7lb increments until I’m satisfied.

moondip · 18/10/2026 13:19

Well done @ChunkyMonkey36 🥳

Midnightmegan · 18/10/2026 15:18

Hi all- would like to join you all for some accountability along my weight loss journey:) nearly 6 months postpartum- started losing weight in July..

  • start weight was 13 stone 11
  • current weight 12 stone 6
  • pre baby weight 10stone 10
  • goal weight for next summer 9 stone 7

I am not breastfeeding. Trying to stick to 1200-1500 kcal, eating mostly clean and workout on my peloton maybe 2-3 times a week and get 5000 steps average a day.
had a very slow September and only lost 3 pounds. Would love to lose another stone by December. Will up my activity and peloton/ general workouts and reduce carbs.

FridayNighFeeling · 18/10/2026 15:40

Just checking in, hope you're all well.

Very little time for MN and hardly any opportunity to hop on the scales, but did this morning and another 2lbs down - despite McDs yesterday... total - 32lbs. BMI getting close to being green so will evaluate once I get there.

10kstepsaday · 18/10/2026 19:21

@LemonDrizzle23 me too, it was delicious! Worth every calorie 😅

Today I've finished at 1505 calories, and I completed a 45 min body combat ✅ we had homemade shepherds pie for dinner, was our first proper winter meal and with the rain lashing outside it was so cozy!!

Reading everyone's losses is very inspiring!

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 19/10/2026 07:55

Morning all! Feel like I’ve got proper back in the calorie counting/mindful eating and drinking groove again and the scales are showing it, 9st 8.3 yesterday which is down from the 9st 9.8 from the 6th which is the last time I’ve recorded a weigh in on my app! Need to keep doing it more frequently to see the trends but trending down is good obvs! Just noticed a better mental and appetite shift too. Found the talk on here of being mindful very helpful as well as counting cals!

10kstepsaday · 19/10/2026 17:37

Today I have finished at 1425 calories and did 1 hour body pump, which was tough!!
Breakfast: oats, banana, blueberries
Lunch: leftover shepherds pie
Dinner: salmon, courgette, sweet potato
Snacks: 2 HB Eggs & a Strawberry Yoghurt

LemonDrizzle23 · 19/10/2026 18:01

Decent day here today. Hit 11,000 steps and also had salmon for dinner. Have two yoga / stretch classes booked at the gym this week. I’ve discovered this back bend over a bolster that I swear makes me taller after class 😂 I’m thinking of asking for one for Christmas…

Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain · 19/10/2026 21:23

You are all inspiring ✨️

Weekend for me was a little hit and miss on the calories front wine was drank and take aways were eaten. Back to counting on Nutracheck today which for a Monday has went surprisingly well. Loving all the Autumn weather and colours definitely my favourite time of year. Need to do a food shop at some point soon thanks to this thread the ingredients for cottage pie and salmon will be on my list along with butternut and carrot soup, lovely Autumn comfort foods 😋

GrannieInTheGarden · 19/10/2026 22:18

Been enjoying the weekend dry weather by getting some exercise cutting back some overgrown branches. Not great yet with stairs but confidence growing by being outside. Jeans very slightly looser at the waist.

Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain · 19/10/2026 22:40

@GrannieInTheGarden sounds lovely your weekend in the garden. You must be pleased with noticing a difference in your jeans. I'm sure the stairs will come in time as your confidence grows. I've got two rose bushes to plant this week hopefully the digging will burn off some wine calories.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 20/10/2026 07:51

Weight still 13 stone 12! No change in 3 weeks. No period either though for 2 months so I think that's something to do with it. When that decides to get here I might go down a bit.

Checking back in.

Have gone up a bit and feeling a bit despairing. I did a couple of 10ks and I think I overdid it and my body had had enough. I do 90 mins dog walking a day and then try for tennis couple of times a week, a short run once or twice, gym once or twice. Feeling tired all the time. With bmi of 27.7 road running is pummeling my joints.

Your stories are inspiring. I need to be consistent and stick with something…

Finally scales are tipping in my favour. Lost 0.4 kg this week according to Happy Scales. No snacking and avoiding booze mostly, apart from 1-2 drinks a week. Started in May. Can’t wait to get under 79.
