⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits. Following on from 🌟LOSE IT!🌟Superfood September🌟

Goodness me, October already 😮! About 12 weekends of the year left!🎄

To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone after having been on the wrong side of 12stone.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Good decision @socks1107 I’m with @moondip- there are so many non scale victories just waiting to be noticed!

Good day here today. Managed to squeeze in 20mins of yoga before pick up. Around various injuries I have now completed Yoga with Adrienne’s 30 days of yoga series and Flow 30 days of yoga. I’m absolutely loving it, so going to find another series of hers to follow I think.

PipkinOfPepper · 08/10/2026 20:40

That sounds very liberating @socks1107 - the tyranny of the scale is real! I had a big lunch then went out early to an event and I’m sure that if I didn’t know I’d be weighing myself on the morning I’d be having a late dinner soon… as it is going to try and face going to bed hungry and have a nice big breakfast to look forward to instead.

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 10/10/2026 08:35

Thankyou so much @SummerHolsFinished for directing me over to the October thread I hadn’t even realised I was posting on the September one 😂😂🙈🙈 I’m having an okay week, after having positive scale times on Wednesday I have come on my period, put some
jeans on yesterday I haven’t worn in a while because we’re off out this weekend and I was planning my outfit and they were so tight 🙃 I’m hoping it was period bloat/because I’d just eaten my dinner but it didn’t feel great - trying not to let it get me down, I can find another outfit to wear and I suppose just shows I do need to stick with it!

SummerHolsFinished · 10/10/2026 08:41

@HappyLittleTreeFriend I practically live in elasticated leggings these days!

I did a sneaky weigh yesterday and was a pound down but this is my pattern, come Wednesday I’m sure it will be back 😂

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 10/10/2026 10:01

Morning! Feeling very bloated today, period on the way. So I'm not going to weigh myself for a bit.

I'm in size 12-14 leggings!! I know they're stretchy, I know they're only leggings, but it is the principle of it.

LemonDrizzle23 · 10/10/2026 11:28

@HappyLittleTreeFriend I’m definitely missing the loose waist band shorts I lived in for about 4 months over summer!

How’s everyone’s weekend shaping up? We have generic family things / DIY / homework etc. but nothing specific and busy which is nice. I think there will be a takeaway tonight, but otherwise it is the season of roasted veg and I’m very much into it!

Exercise plans involve yoga and walking.

Have gone up a bit and feeling a bit despairing. I did a couple of 10ks and I think I overdid it and my body had had enough. I do 90 mins dog walking a day and then try for tennis couple of times a week, a short run once or twice, gym once or twice. Feeling tired all the time. With bmi of 27.7 road running is pummeling my joints.

Your stories are inspiring. I need to be consistent and stick with something…

FridayNighFeeling · 11/10/2026 07:19

Hey @LemonDrizzle23 We've been out for dinner yesterday alongside all the usual stuff and due to circumstances will be having a sandwich out and a take out tonight Blush Such is life, I'm on my period and not weighing regularly at the moment, so it will all settle down eventually. I did have to go buy a belt as all my work trousers bought in June and July are loose!
Have a nice weekend!

It really is! I know I’ll be loosing given the calories and exercise but I’m not letting a scale number ruin anymore days. It near took my nerves doing 55lbs and seeing a healthy bmi so now it can just trickle off in the background without me looking! I know what it was six weeks ago and I know it will be lower given I’ve carried on but I’m ignoring any numbers 😂

had a great swim today. I’ve added 100 calories on as I was struggling and a bit miserable and wow what a difference, my energy and mood and are great and my workouts are really hard and effective. My swim today I had to join the fast lane I was really going well. I’m thinking 100 more in good food and protein is better long term, loose a touch less and it doesn’t matter as I’m not looking and see better work outs so better toning. That’s my silly plan anyway!

hope everyone’s had a good weekend

PipkinOfPepper · 12/10/2026 08:34

New week!

85kg exactly here this morning, hopeful I’ll see a number starting with 84 on the scales at some point this week. Aim is to keep chugging water and eating loads of vegetables - I’ve got a sociable weekend coming up which will inevitably include booze and food, so I want to give myself the best start to the week to account for the inevitable scale creep next Monday!

LemonDrizzle23 · 12/10/2026 15:07

Well my weight appears to be going up by the second! But I also have sore boobs and bloating, so I’m guessing it’s about that time of the month. I shall therefore be ignoring the scales!

Lol after writing this this morning I've been STARVING all day - no idea why, not that time in my cycle - and have just eaten loads of bread and butter which is sadly like crack to me. Not a good start to the week! But onwards and upwards.

Reminding myself that the positive thing is that at least my response is to refocus, rather than falling off the wagon completely.

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 13/10/2026 07:51

Thanks everyone for the tight waistband support 😊😂💜 I also miss loose summer shorts @LemonDrizzle23- my style in general is more baggy and loose thankfully but it was good in a way to think come on, be inspired to get back into those tighter jeans comfortably again! I had a lovely weekend, ate and drank but not too excessively and back on the count this week! Also off my period thank goodness and much less bloated 👍🏻👍🏻💜💜

LemonDrizzle23 · 13/10/2026 20:44

@HappyLittleTreeFriend I have a pair of jeans that now look fabulous for walking on the school run, but I wouldn’t want to sit down in them for a long time 😂 hopefully by the end of winter they will be comfy!

Reasonable day here. Still time of the month symptoms - although I rarely ever get a proper period on this pill - but emotionally feeling more settled! Managed a walk and a stretch at least.

PatienceOfEngels · 14/10/2026 06:33

Wow: -0.3kg. Another point down on the BMI! That's a loss of 3.7kg in 9 weeks. Slow and steady.

Going well with avoiding (evening) snacking. Can still move more. Not expecting a loss this coming week as on half term and abroad for a few days.

Good morning.

Well done @PatienceOfEngels

SW (02.09.26): 9st1
Current weight (Happy scale moving average): 8st12.4
Target weight: 8st?

This is so, so slow, but I’m trying to see the positive - I’ve stopped the gain!

My starting weight was my highest ever (apart from pregnancy) weight and it panicked me. The gradual creep up was so slow that I didn’t really notice. I’d spent my whole life around 8st and got a huge shock when I weighed myself at the beginning of Sept at 9st1. There was also no obvious reason for it (other than now being in my early 40s). I hadn’t changed my eating (pretty healthy, mainly whole foods, lots of fibre & protein), I’m very active, walk lots, lift weights at home, etc.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 14/10/2026 07:50

Weight still 13 stone 12 but I'm down an inch on waist and hips, which makes it 10 inches lost from my hips and 7 from my waist!

ChunkyMonkey36 · 14/10/2026 08:33

0.75lb off this morning, that last 1lb to get to my 2st is taking the piss. Do I just round down? 😂

SW: 16st 10lbs / 106.14kg
CW: 14st 10 1/4lbs / 93.55kg
Total lost: 27 3/4lbs / 12.59kg

Fellsbells · 14/10/2026 08:50

Well done wowers. Sympathies to the victims of hormones. Me too! I’m now 90% bread. I’ve forgotten what protein is. I’m practically pure carbohydrate at this point. Today should see an improvement as hormones start to finally improve.

LemonDrizzle23 · 14/10/2026 09:32

Yeah I am not taking notice of the scales until next week at least. Two days ago I was 3lbs up from last week, now it’s 0.2lbs down 😂

Well done to everyone WOWing!

Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain · 14/10/2026 09:43

Morning everyone I would like to join you all please. Would desperately like to lose two and a half stone for Summer. Planning on counting calories with Nutracheck and trying to walk as much as possible.

Current weight 12 stone 7 lbs

moondip · 14/10/2026 10:19

Morning all. I had a couple of days off-plan at the weekend and have STS this week!

SW: 102.1kg
CW: 88.75kg
Next GW: 80kg

Bufftailed · 14/10/2026 11:29

Well done all. Am up 0.2 (moving av) this week but actually feel getting back on track.

SW 84 (May)

Aiming for a decent loss this week

SummerHolsFinished · 15/10/2026 08:07

Stayed the same yesterday 😆 my name on the next thread will be some variation of STS.

To be fair, I didn’t up my exercise last week so it’s not exactly a surprise. Will be working hard this week to shift that pound.

SummerHolsFinished · 15/10/2026 08:10

I’m now 90% bread
😆 that made me laugh @Fellsbells!

Welcome @Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain. I started changing my eating habits at the beginning of the summer holidays. Fed up of no energy and tight jeans. Consistently chipping away is definitely the path to success! Good luck!
