Has anyone overcome diet fatigue by eating at maintenance for a while?

I manged to go from 13st to 8st last year but, this year, I've put on 2 stone and it's down to over eating every 5 days or so because of restricting on the other days.

Has anyone experienced diet fatigue and managed to overcome it by going to maintenance calories for a few weeks and then resuming?

I lost 5 stone a few years ago and when going onto maintenance I felt my jeans getting tighter so I started dieting again. I realised that I needed to calorie count even on maintainence. So I calorie count over a week instead of a day which has helped me keep on top of it. I also do a stricter week before and after an event like a holiday or Christmas so I can relax my diet a bit more. It does feel tiresome still at times especially as my maintenance is only 1390 (short and disabled so inactive). I have found overtime routine helped and meant it took less thinking time but there are days when I think I really dont want to do this and make myself think of the positives.

I lost 3 stone about 8 years ago and managed to keep it off for about 5 years. Then I put it all back on again gradually over a couple of years.
I realise that I need to calorie count and focus on good food if I’m going to get it off and keep
it off. I’ve also done the Second Nature programme which had helped enormously in understanding food and nutrition.
I’ve lost almost all of the 3 stone now, over about 10 months, but my plan is to do pretty much what the pp above says. I accept that I need to watch what I eat if I don’t want to be obese again.

I lost 4st 5lbs tracking calories and eating low carb with mounjaro for 14 months and was getting fed up so had a 2 month break at bmi 23 eating at maintenance then lost a further 5lbs to bmi 21.8 then had another 3 months break eating at maintenance and then gained and lost another 2lbs. Its very difficult to sustain a long term diet at lower weights on a low tdee of just less than 1500 due to being short and it makes me very lethargic cutting for my calories by 300-500 a day.
