Has anyone managed to lose 9st on a calorie deficit diet? If so, how long did it take,

For reference, I’m 42 and 19st 13lbs

I did but I used mounjaro to help me stay in a deficit. It’s taken me 18 months to lose 9 stone and I’m very very slowly losing my last stone!

I have lost 7 stone without any WLI assistance. I do Intermittent Fasting 16:8 and prioritise Protein and Fibre whilst keeping calories under 1500. I have mobility issues but try to exercise each day but always a gentle light weight session or walking. It has taken 2 years to drop the weight but as I said I have mobility problems and in my sixties. Good luck on your journey OP.

How's it going @lindLH

I am currently reading the weight loss threads trying to find motivation weighing over 16 stone is depressing me.

The only way to lose weight is by a calorie deficit.

If you have 9st to lose then it will be much easier.

Lots of people will recommend using WLIs but if I was you I wouldn’t use these until you’ve lost a couple of stone at least and then decide.

When your body loses weight it becomes harder as time goes on.
I would try and lose weight naturally and then when your weight loss starts slowing, then consider WLIs to maximise their effectiveness.

I also wouldn’t want to lose 9st too quickly.
There is nothing worse than loose skin and only surgery can deal with it.
Loosing it slower will decrease the loose skin and make you more successful at keeping the weight off long term.

I would weigh yourself.
Then focus on eating 2000kcals of whatever you want. Track it using my fitness pal.
Weigh yourself at the end of the week and do this for a couple of weeks.
If you’re losing weight then carry on, if not you might have to reduce the calories slightly.

I lost weight by focusing on protein and veg for every meal and then reducing my carbs.
Don’t worry about exercise but walking really helped me mentally and kept me busy so I wasn’t snacking.
Then going to bed early and getting a decent sleep is key to lose weight.
