I'm so happy. First bath in a couple of years. (Don't worry I did have a shower)

My weight got so bad in 2024 that my knees couldn't support me getting in and out of the bath.
Today I am down to 82.2kg which is still on the heavy side. I started at 142kg. I did it slowly and have had good and bad days (weeks).
I loved having a bath but couldn't stand the pain in my knees.
I thought I'd try today and I got in and out amitidly not without some ache but I didn't struggle.
DH was downstairs just in case I needed a hand. If this isn't an incentive for me to loose more weight.

Well done, that is amazing. Love a good bath. If you can, treat yourself to some lovely bubble bath. I got a cherry one from Homebargains that smells so nice

This is amazing! Until someone has been overweight and unable to do simple things like this they will never understand how wonderful it is. Congratulations!

WhisperingAngelisnotbad · 17/06/2026 20:38

I love a good bath. Especially with Waitrose grapefruit/ clementine or Baylis/Harding rose/ geranium bubble bath

Ineedanewsofa · 17/06/2026 21:39

That’s brilliant @bowlinginthesun, spoil yourself with some lovely bath stuff to celebrate!

Hedgesgalore · 17/06/2026 21:46

Well done on your wl, there's nothing like a nice bath 😁

Ours is very deep, I go in but getting out is always a "here we go again" moment, I need to lose weight, portion control is my downfall

Okiedokie123 · 17/06/2026 21:51

That’s a fabulous weight loss result. Well done!

Why would you need a shower as well as a bath? One or the other is fine.

Ohcrap082024 · 17/06/2026 21:55

Well done @bowlinginthesunnow time to treat yourself to some fab bath goodies.

bowlinginthesun · 17/06/2026 22:02

@Okiedokie123i couldn't get in the bath as I couldn't get out. So I've not had a bath for 2 years.
But I did shower every day

Im SO sorry @bowlinginthesun Ive had a stupidly long day! I misread and thought you meant you'd had both today....... not what you actually meant which is the obvious......during the last couple of years, whilst not able to have a bath you have had showers!

Well done op, absolutely brilliant progress and what a reward!
Ive been on WLI to assist me in my weightloss journey, I’ve always had baths but the first time I let the plug out and the water just all drained out without my body causing a dam-like build up of water behind me was such a milestone moment and I’ll never forget the feeling of wonder.
You carry on enjoying the beauty of a lovely
hot soak, load up on the bubbles if you like them, dd bought me one of those shelf things that sit across the bath for a birthday and I love lying there watching something on my phone - so indulgent!

suki1964 · 17/06/2026 22:56

What a brilliant non scale victory

My major one was cutting my toenails - neatly - nut just hacking and hoping for the best

nocoolnamesleft · 20/06/2026 10:10

You’ve lost a third of your body weight. That is absolutely inspiring!
