What would you consider your starting weight?

At my heaviest I was 200 pounds. But when I started actively losing weight I somehow had lost 10 pounds and was 190 (I was eating extremely poorly when I got to my heaviest). I’m now 130 pounds (no glp 1). I like to tell myself that I’ve lost 70 pounds. I know it’s not that serious. But I dunno sometimes I feel a bit of a phony when I write in a comment that I’ve lost 70 pounds for example. Not that there’s much difference really in the grand scheme of things

I know just where you're coming from! I weighed at least 24 stone, at what I would consider my starting weight, but I'm not for sure because the scales stopped working and they didn't let them go higher than that 20 years ago. Or, if they did, I certainly didn't know about it!

I think it's a form of imposter syndrome where you don't give yourself, or allow yourself, the credit for how far you've come.

Losing 60 or 70 pounds, whichever, is a major achievement. There's no need to worry about the minutia and you can allow yourself to celebrate your success.

You’ve lost 70lb, be proud of that👏

My starting weight or what I consider it to be is 13st 1lb, that was me at my heaviest. I was ill before I started intermittent fasting so did lose and then regain a few pounds and I didn’t actually weigh myself on the day I started but I’m sticking with that.

I’m currently 8st 8lb, have gained a few pounds from my lowest and back on track with the goal of maintaining at 8st 7lb. Maintenance is really hard and I’ve discovered my sweet tooth has not gone, a little sugar still leads to lots of sugar🫣

You’ve lost 70 pounds from your highest weight. The fact you lost the first 10 pounds without actively trying to is not really relevant. You were 200 now you are 130, that’s a 70 difference, it’s that simple.

The weight I was when I made my first wegovy order, I suppose- because I had been determinedly avoiding weighing myself up to that point

You have lost 70lb, you are down 70lb from your heaviest weight!

If you lost the weight you still lost it, whether you tried or not.
You don’t have it and it’s gone.

You can say ‘The last 60lbs were the hardest.’ 😁

Thank you all! When other people say it I believe it. But I guess we are all our worst critics

That’s really a lot of weight, you must feel like a new person. Well done x
