Hi all,
TRIGGER WARNING TALKING ABOUT WEIGHT AND EATING HABITS
I had my gallbladder removed 3 years ago. The year leading up to this I was under weight due to not being able to eat fatty food and stress, I imagine.
post gallbladder surgery the weight had creeped back up. Especially in the last year.
I find if I ‘diet’ or eat smaller portions it doesn’t make me feel good, I think I absorb nutrients differently now as my iron levels seem to go low without supplements.
my job is stationary, which does not help. But when I’m not at work I’m always on the move pretty much. I have a child, and active hobbies so I’m not sure why I’m gaining more and more and more weight. My eating habits aren’t even bad I don’t think? Sweet stuff tends to be my problem but not excessively..
as an example on an average day
breakfast : weetabix with fruit
lunch : bagel usually with tuna or ham with a type of veg or fruit, sometimes with something sweet.
dinner : spaghetti bolognaise
if I snack I might have the odd Maryland cookie or cracker, fruit but idk.. I don’t think I eat terribly?
I do find if I have the odd really stressful day I binge eat.. I will then have a takeaway; or a large bar of chocolate, sweets etc.. this probably happens once every couple of months so surely that alone can’t be impacting?
does anyone have any tips post gallbladder surgery or experienced the same? I’m worried about my weight creeping up to a really high number again. Surely a varied diet and moderate exercise is acceptable?
or do I still need to life off a ‘fat free clean eating diet’ like I did pre surgery??? I literally lived off chicken and veg but I did no exercise..
According to BMI (which I know can be a load of BS) but I don’t want to put my actual height and weight.. I’m in the overweight category
