Has anyone used the Slimfast diet for a quick fix?

I am going abroad in 3 weeks and desperately want to lose about half a stone before I go. I have stuck to the slimfast diet for 2 whole days now and have not faltered. Whoopee! I am so determined to lose a bit of weight. DH is away so it will be easier. Do you think it would be possible to lose half stone or more hopefully this way? I know it isn't a permanent solution, but believe me after seeing myself in a bikini I have lost my appetite anyway! So has anyone used the Slimfast diet successfully?

I lasted till lunchtime on it. I admire your willpower, it is meant to be extrememly effective as a quick fix so good luck with it.

It's not slimfast, but there's a new diet for (very) overweight people (not suggesting this is you of course - it's a membership thing, costs a bit too and apparently slightly controvertial) where my friend has successfully lost 5 stone in 5 months! Sounds shocking, but she looks utterly amazing, and it is also based on 2 shakes a day, 2 litres of water, no tea, no coffee and soups in the evening...

I, and my friends, are still reeling at her new found look!

I know it's not technically what you asked, but given it's based on shakes and 1 meal a day - I have seen astonishing results!

BTW - I always lose weight when DH is away, cause I don't have to cook in the evenings!

I lost weight quite quickly following the Gillian McKeith thing "You Are What You Eat".

I lost nearly a kilo a day following the 1 week induction of "The Food Doctor Diet" pu. DK. Similar to YAWYE but easier to follow & more realistic I think. Me big fan

I thought slimfast was vile, it certainly goes no way to mentally replacing a meal!

I'd recommend a GI Gillian MCKeith based diet as well, I'm not overweight but on GI I've lost 2lbs in tyen days of almost following it and still drinking beer so am pretty convinced it works Dh has lost 9lbs in 3 weks doing GI properly.
And the food is really good, check out the GI threads for info
