sry I need to vent 😭 while I know that watching my calories is the only way I am sometimes legit shocked what it gets me to eat or do just to have a grip on it...I know it has to be sustainable but at the same time I am willing to do ANYTHING to lose weight

I eat my safe food that I make as a filler replacement to try and distract my brain from what I want but in safe calories!!!! And get this I once sprayed some kind of butter imitate cooking spray right in my damn mouth to make my "dumplings" somewhat edible, clumps of glucomannan with sesame, anything to get some form of savoury-thing-fried-in-a-pan taste, without actually eating significant food.

I also made a "pizza" from hell, the toppings was just canned tomatoes mushed with bouillon cubes on a "crust" out of microwaveable keto bread. Inedible, I still finished it of course, but tbh that was rough to pass of a pizza. It was hot and red and smelled like tomato but the illusion only worked for maybe half a second :(

One time I also blended up a plastic spoon and ate it anyway with my oats I was so depressed and checked out I did't care anymore at all

does anyone have similar experiences what was the worst thing that you ended up eating just because you're dieting and how do you snap out of itttttt 😭 😭 😭 😭

I totally understand this feeling but the spoon made me laugh 🤣

likelysuspect · 15/05/2026 20:50

This all sounds a little bit extreme

I thought you were going to talk about roasted brussel sprouts or something as a snack and I would have been able to say to you 'I have these in the fridge for snacking and I love them'. Crispy little roasted olive oil and chilli sprouts.

Remember the Two Chubby Cubs? They were good at this. Slagging off weight watchers recipes of tasting like 'farts and sadness'. I made 'chocolate ice cream' once out of mashed banana and cocoa powder. It was fkn awful!

Flannelfeet · 15/05/2026 21:50

😱. I would be terrified of the blended plastic spoon coming out the other end....arse in tatters! 😖

TwiggyShrimp · 16/05/2026 05:29

Why did you eat a spoon? 😭

I sympathise, OP! I am always dieting and trying to find creative ways to not binge on everything (failed earlier this week and massacred some milk chocolate digestives) because I cannot stop at one of anything!

Mints and OXO cubes are a staple at my house. It's going to be a long spring to get to the summer and then the autumn...and then..well, you know.

Bigearringsbigsmile · 16/05/2026 05:34

You can eat nice food and still count calories. In fact, it's more important than ever to have the nicest food you possibly can.

What sorrs of tastes do you like?

BreakingBroken · 19/05/2026 04:57

No diet is going to be sustainable long term if you’re eating stuff you hate.
I get it but I know it’s simply not healthy or helpful to weight loss.
Me, I’ve occasionally with an aim to loose weight eaten FISH, I fucken hate fish, the mere thought makes me gag, I need to psych myself up for 5 days minimum.
In the spirit of weight loss I’m more prone to try weird exercises.

Harriet36 · 19/05/2026 05:51

I bought some zero calorie noodles. It was like eating elastic bands. I’d rather have real noodles and take the hit.

GaraMedouar · 19/05/2026 05:56

Tinned sardines ! 🤢 so good for you though - it takes me about an hour to force one tin down then I’m not hungry for ages after 🤣

MynameisnotJohn · 19/05/2026 05:57

Yeah it has to be those konjac zero calorie noodles. I have a stomach of iron but that rubber band weird mess had me farting and groaning and clutching my poor insides until the alien mess had worked its way through.
I don’t eat non food these days. Manage with too much cottage cheese and eggs (and WLI!)

MynameisnotJohn · 19/05/2026 05:58

Oh and bulletproof coffee when I tried keto. Coffee with butter in…

I tried these the other week and didn't have any problems but, because so many others have, I'm not going to press my luck!

MoneyJo · 19/05/2026 06:19

I'm on WLI which makes all the difference but I eat pretty low calorie now and am making it a long term habit.

I only eat things I will enjoy. If I have to limit my calories I am going to make sure they are tasty calories! No plastic spoon or konjac here.

cuberoot · 19/05/2026 06:28

I survive on konjac instead, it's a life saver, it gives me the illusion of eating pasta (I know, I know, sooner or later I am going to get my Italian passport ripped).
I can't grips with the idea of "filling up on vegs" instead. I can eat just little portions (if someone cooks them for me) and then I'm done :(

cuberoot · 19/05/2026 06:30

Get to grips, I mean... didn't sleep much

Slightyamusedandsilly · 19/05/2026 06:30

Green smoothies. For the health effect and to fill me up. Spinach, kiwi (to cover the flavour of the spinach) and a cup of builders tea as a chaser. It looks as if I'm drinking algae.
