If you are 5ft 2 or 5ft 3 is a 4/5lb loss noticeable to either you or others?

Due to new medication started 2 months ago this is how much I’ve lost. I’m not sure I look any different but my jeans are looser. I really need to get doing squats to find my arse! i’m now 8st 4lb and was 8st 8/9lb when i started the medication. It’s not weight loss medication but does affect appetite as a side effect, just incase anyone thinks I’m talking about weight loss drugs.

I’m 5’5 and recently lost about 5lbs and my mum and DH noticed. My mum said my face looks thinner - well actually she said “oh your moon face is so much better” thanks mum, didn’t know I had “moon face”🙄. I feel a bit thinner and my jeans are a bit looser, but no one else seems to have noticed.

MamaBee1111 · 15/05/2026 10:00

I am 5'2 and it took losing 3 stone for people to notice!

ChubbyGroundhog · 15/05/2026 10:00

No

Fupoffyagrasshole · 15/05/2026 10:03

I’m 5ft 1 and I lost about a pound a week for a whole (now a whole stone gone)

but I only noticed cus my jeans got looser and people did comment about my face looking thinner

i did take weekly progress photos these were super noticeable

but I didn’t notice a thing without the photos tbh for ages

PennySweeet · 15/05/2026 10:08

5ft 3” and 8.5 stone so it would definitely be noticeable to me.

I have no idea about others and don’t care.

Greeniscalming · 15/05/2026 10:08

I would notice but I don’t think others would.

ButterYellowFlowers · 15/05/2026 10:09

No not really. Only starts being noticable when it’s 7lbs+ (half a stone ish).

AnonSugar · 15/05/2026 10:09

I fluctuate between your exact weights OP.
I definitely notice looser clothes when I lost weight.

Moomintrolleys · 15/05/2026 10:11

I'm 5 ft 1 and have lost a stone over 6 months and nobody has noticed. Not even me

lottlecat · 15/05/2026 10:20

Definitely not. I’m 5’2 and 4lb can be my usual fluctuating weight over the course of a week. I weigh bang on 11 stone though, perhaps if I was in the 8 stone area it would be visible. I started at 20 stone though and I had to lose about 4 before it showed at all

Nope I’m 55kg (8st6lb) and also fluctuate that much weekly.

Oceangrey · 15/05/2026 10:28

Yes if consistent rather than daily fluctuation. I wouldn't have noticed when I was 13st but now I'm 10st and a few lb makes a difference, so I'm sure it would at a lower weight.

VestPantsandSocks · 15/05/2026 10:29

I lost 8kg and nobody said a word!
Very disappointed 😆

Pinklightning · 15/05/2026 10:54

I absolutely hate anyone commenting on my weight so I’m hoping it’s not noticeable. There are some family members who ask every time they see me if I’ve lost weight. I’ve rarely lost weight, it’s pretty stable so it annoys me and makes me very uncomfortable.

Wrong thread

WimpoleHat · 15/05/2026 11:04

I would definitely notice. Don’t know if others would?

Stoicandhappy · 15/05/2026 11:05

Yes, I am 5 ft 4 and weigh 8 stone exactly. If I lose more than a couple of pounds it does show…

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 15/05/2026 11:09

Yes, I notice as my clothes are a lot looser, other people it’s a 50/50 split between not noticing and getting called lollipop head.

LuubyLuu · 15/05/2026 11:10

Yes, I’m 5’3 - 4 or 5 pounds is the difference between my clothes fitting properly and feeling tight, and other people do notice. I have a small frame but am curvy if that makes a difference.

lorisia · 15/05/2026 11:35

I’m 5’2 and can weigh 7 stone one day and 7 and a half the next so no I don’t think I look different day to day.
I know it’s water weight but as I fluctuate between that half a stone daily how could I tell you how much I weigh or tell if I’ve lost 4/5 lb?
All I can say is my clothes fit me the same.

WorriedAnxiousAndStressed · 15/05/2026 16:08

Just over 5’3”, and 4/5lbs loss is definitely noticeable (to me). It usually means my stomach looks and feels less bloated.

Tryagain26 · 15/05/2026 16:10

I am five 2 and I lost 2 stone before anyone noticed?

VividDeer · 15/05/2026 16:11

I've had one comment other than dh and have lost 14lbs. People probably too polite to say, but had a lot of compliments on appearance in general terms.

Mycatismad · 15/05/2026 16:17

I'm 5ft 1 and people only noticed my weight loss when it got to 3 stone and lots more have noticed at 4 stone
