16:8 fasting

Have many tried this and how did it go do you? What meals did you find worked well for weight lose and keeping you full for longer?

I do a job that means I sometimes can only fast for less than the 16:8 as I need to eat before I go in.

Any advice, meal plans or positive outcomes?

It is very helpful for weight loss. I've lost over 7 stone.
I'm not bothered by breakfast so I eat somewhere between 12 and 2 once I'm back from the gym. I feel totally fine doing that. I eat a light lunch, fruit and Greek yogurt, home made soup, cheese and crackers, peanut butter on an apple.
Then my evening meal is about 7 and is low carb and high veg, I'm a vegetarian, with some protein.
I might have a snack around 5pm and it can chocolate or something else that is a treat.
if you need breakfast then eat at 7 or 8am and finish eating at 5 or 6pm.
And 14:10 would be a great start if you can't do 16:8. Good luck

Thank you @Mathsbabe.

I think my hardest thing is working out what to eat as I am back with meal planning. With younger kids they tend to not like eating fresh meals so it ends up a bung in the oven. I just did myself an egg salad last night in the end with fruit and yoghurt for dessert.

I do it and I find it very straightforward and easy to maintain. My eating window is 12-8pm (but I will flex the window to later if I have dinner out) and I have sparkling water or black coffee only outside those times. I find it suits me and is effective because I used to be a late night snacker . As a happy side effect I also sleep better as I’m not going to sleep with a full stomach. Gin Stephen’s’ books are good .

Another 16/8 here for nearly three years now, with ahem, "suitable" breaks for special occasions and holidays. I did lose weight on it when I was very disciplined, but now I am just in the habit of that routine, and eating outside of my "window" feels a bit odd to me!

What it does for me is maintain a reasonable weight without too much calories counting, which I absolutely detest. It has completely stopped my late night munchies, which was just habit anyway. I do try to avoid the bad stuff, but will have something a couple of times a week within my window like a dessert or nice carbs.

I think personally it is good discipline and breaks bad habits, well it did for me, and another benefit is that I was pre diabetic, but am not now anymore. I'm in my 60s so post meno when all the weight just lands on my belly - if I allow it to. 😊
